smokin, are you sure that it's resetting? They can be a pain sometimes, make sure that you don't have any floor mats preventing a good, solid, slow push to the floor for three strokes (key on, but not cranked). The change oil should flash three times when it resets. If it just goes out without flashing, it's timed out instead of reset and will be back at the next startup. Mine got "stuck" one time and I couldn't get it to clear for nearly a week. Kennedy finally cleared it with a Tech II at the diesel get together at Eric Merchant's GM shop in Grand Rapids. That was the only time, and good to know that it can be done that way if you have access to a Tech II or a dealer.

I had trouble resetting mine following the instructions in the book and this forum. The last time after a half dozen failed attempts I got p***ed and stomped it down and let it pop back up. It took that time. Later! Frank

I went through the same thing.
Someone here suggested pumping pedal five times. It worked that time. Next one, took after three times......

???.

I had that problem on my 02 once and it turned out that I wasn't turning the key to the off position right after the "Oil Life Reset" message showed. I was starting the engine afterwards. Apparently it needs to be switched to the "off" position to fully reset. It was frustrating to me at the time too.

I hacked my ecm to make it say "You will meet a hot babe today"

Now I see that every time I fire her up.

I had the same problem on my 04. On the last attempt I sent the pedal down for #4 and held it there. That was the majic recipe I guess.
