Anyone seen any hard numbers on a loaded CC 4x4 LT Duramax? Just wondering, might get a new one.....

I have spent most of the day playing with options and prices at www.chevrolet.com (http://www.chevrolet.com) and www.gmbuypower.com (http://www.gmbuypower.com) because they have pricing for the 06's posted. Gmbuypower is tricky to find the 06 prices, I had to use directions from another poster here.
Chevrolet.com worked the best for me and then I did a locate vehicle search and was surprised at the number of 06 CC D/A's that are in my area already. Just last week there were no 05 or 06 DAs around here.

The prices actually seem about the same as the 05s, like GM did not do its usual 3% markup. I am curious about how much the dealers are going to negotiate, since there was talk of a new pricing strategy.

The window stickers showed these trucks have the 310hp LLY engine/6 speed Allison.

In answer to your question, MSRP for a loaded CC 4x4 LT3 D/A, $48,000 neighborhood.

And the $48600 msrp truck has a GM Supplier price of around $43500, but wait, there is a $2000 incentive until 9/6/05. So If you work for a GM Supplier, or can get a guest code from this forum, your price would be $41500 for a fully loaded LT3. If the GM in the driveway program is gone, then try to negotiate for around $41500 target price and see if the dealer will sell.

Price on the fully loaded '05 is around $38500, which is GMS aka employee price minus $2500 incentive until 9/6/05. Find an '05 if you can.

Wait. So you don't actually have to prove you're a GM Supplier, you just have to have a code? That's crazy!

You might think of it as a waste of $$$$, but this is the first vehicle I have ever had with a sunroof and I like it a lot:D . It's nice to open it up in the evening when cruising around. Besides, this truck was the only Duramax left, besides a stripped down work truck, out of 5 dealers I was shopping when I was ready to buy last month.

I even had a guy in a 2500HD follow me to a golf course at 6:30 in the morning (just so happened to be where I was going at the time) just to ask me if it was a factory option or if I had it put in after I bought. So, maybe it might just be pretty cool :coolio: option and not so much of a waste. The more options the better at trade in time to. $$$$

I priced my exact truck the other day and according to window stickers, there is about a $500 higher difference. So much for GM doing away with rebates and dropping the sticker price instead.

"get a guest code from this forum"

How does one get a guest code for a 2006 D/A?

SilveradoHD
08-15-2005, 09:16 PM
Here is what I know. The "invoice" for a truck is a printed piece of paper that every dealer has for every vehicle on their lot.

The invoice shows 3 (or more) prices:
MRM (same as MSRP?), Supplier, and GMS (same as "employee price").

The sale on 2005 models is GREAT because anyone can walk in and pay GMS (employee) price AND get the $2500 cash rebate!

For 2006 models, we return to "normal". GM employees can buy vehicles for GMS for themselves and immediate family. Using GM employee ID to buy vehicles for others is fraud. GM employees who buy vehicles are required to keep them for 6 months, or 2 years on Corvette and Pontiac GTO.

In addition, GM Employees can refer 2 "Friends or extended family" to get the
Supplier price every month. There are employees on this forum who will give away their 2 per month allotment because if you are on this forum, you are their friend. With this referral, you DO NOT get the GMS employee price, you get the SUPPLIER price AND the current $2000 2500HD rebate for 2006. (until
9/6/05.) Go to the New Vehicle Ordering forum and kindly ask for a code, only when you are ready to buy.

Employee's of GM's Supplier's can get two Supplier discounts per calendar year. Once you get a code from their website, it is only good for 6
months and only usable by you. No referrals. You take the printout with your code to the dealer and must show them a recent paycheck stub. You
pay the "Supplier price" printed on the invoice AND get any rebates.

Of course, ANYONE is welcome to pay MSRP at any time, it is good for the shareholders...

Thank you for explaining this to me. When I know for sure the trucks are coming with LBZ DuraMax's, I plan on ordering one. Any financial help I can get is deeping appreciated. I hope the LBZ's start coming out in September. I remember the LLY's came out the 1st of January.

If you are going to order your truck, check with your salesman. I did today and found out that if I ordered it now, it would come with a LBZ engine. Apparently all orders after Aug 15, will be equipped with the LBZ engine. The LBZ option is about $500CDN more expensive than LLY, so that would probably make it about $350 to $400 more in US dollars. I ordered the truck today.

Please explain more about GM Supplier discount / forum code discount. Thanks

SilveradoHD
08-27-2005, 03:02 AM
As stated just above, every GM employee is allowed to get (generate) two
GM Supplier Discount codes per month for the purpose of getting friends
to buy GM cars and trucks. The GM Supplr price is printed
right on the paper invoice, dealerships' participation is voluntary so they are
not forced to sell you a rare vehicle for the deep discount if they don't
want to. This is a no haggle price and is in the ballpark of what kelly blue
book or edmunds shows as the factory "invoice" price.

The short: when the truck you want is sitting on the lot, ask the dealer if
they will accept a Supplier discount code on it. If yes, then ask Howard
for a code.

If you will settle for an LLY engine GO NOW and buy an '06 off the lot.
The current "sale price" is employee price GMS MINUS $1000 cash rebate.
You don't need any codes and GMS is printed on the paper invoice.
(GMS is about $2000 lower than GM Supplier price) Yes, I think $3000
under invoice is a GREAT deal on a new '06 at the start of the model year!!!

I've done some playing with the numbers over the last few days and it looks like the GMS pricing is 7% higher on the 06 than the 05. All of the 05s I had priced earlier before everyone ran out were about a 21% discount, not including the 2500. The 06s are running 14% and only 1000 dollars if you finance with GMAC. Dealers are telling me that the GMS pricing is good until at least Sep. 30th on the 06.

SilveradoHD
08-28-2005, 02:56 AM
Your numbers seem realistic.
GMS - $1000, 2006 LT3 $48500 for $40500 = ~83.5% (16.5% discount, but the
same truck costs $1000 more to start with.)
GMS - $2500, 2005 LT $47500 for $38000 = ~80.8% (19.2% discount)

Anyway you slice it, the 2006 is $2500 more. The LBZ will also carry
an addititional price increase of $350 or so according to another thread.

Be careful of taking your dealer's word for granted. I had to cancel an order I put in a week ago, as the paperwork came back with an engine option code of LLY!

I will have my order put in again on Monday to see it comes back as on LBZ this time.

I had a call from my salesman last Friday to confirm that my order went in as a LBZ. He also filed a Z31 which gives him a copy of the build order, to ensure that the LBZ will be installed. If I have to wait for the LBZ, I can. I'd rather wait and get the LBZ.:ro)

I work for was'nt even listed, I had to call headquarters for code. This vehicle is a crewcab,longbed,4x4 electronic shift,SLE 1,allison 6-speed,locking rear diff.,onstar package,power driver seat,power heated mirrors,HD trailer equip,aluminum wheels,dual climate control,skid plates,camper wiring,spare tire lock,sliding rear window

I am new to this group and I have been shopping for a 2006 2500hd lt with the diesel engine option. My local dealership has 4 in stock right now, and I have two options right now. I can either purchase a the truck through my parents who worked for a GM affiliated company, or do the employee discount price right off the lot. I know if I want to purchase the truck through my parents, I think I get the best price if I order it, rather than take one for the dealers stock (which I think they prefer less if they are giving a better price). Please advise.
On a different note, what is the LBZ engine option?

Thanks in advance.

tentspike, that is a great price! My '06 GMC SLT was fully loaded $48600
except for rear DVD and sunroof, and cost me $41200 two weeks ago.
That was GM supplier - $2k rebate. The Employee (GMS) - $1k rebate
works out to about $1000 cheaper. Wish I had waited two weeks...

SilveradoHD
08-29-2005, 02:28 PM
dslew, welcome! There are a few things to consider. The GM Employee
price for everyone now includes 2006 2500HD Sierra and Silverado through
9/30/05. It is a gamble to hope they extend it past then.

If your parents worked for an affiliate, then you are probably
talking about GM Supplier price which is about $2000 higher than
GMS. (confusing, GMS actually stands for GM Employee Price.)

The $1000 cash rebate also applies through 9/30/05. Also a gamble to
hope for an extension on the rebate.

LBZ is the new engine code, 3rd generation duramax diesel engine.
LLY - 310hp & 605 torque. LBZ - 360hp 650 torque.
You can order the LBZ motor option after 9/9/05, but the earliest
deliveries will not likely be until October. Is 45 torque worth $3000?

I drove an 06' saturday, and we sat down to figure the cost.

list was 44,608$

GSM was 37,999$

then $1000 rebate

makeing it 36,999 plus Tax and title.

I can get a dodge for an even 30K, if may NOT be ALL the truck feature wise that the Chevy is, but man 6K less is 6,000$ less.

I cant justify the GMC trucks, they are too proud of them.

I just made an offer of $42,617 for an '06 GMC Dually CC that had an MSRP of $51,105. Dealer was at $45,852 and wouldn't budge. Both our prices included the $1,000 rebate for the 3500's with LBZ.

Salesman kept asking me if I wanted to offer something between his price and mine, I figured my offer was fair so I walked. Told him that's all I'll pay.

I might need to wait until January when they get a little more hungry, they need to sell trucks worse than I need to buy one.

RWH, you could go back & ask to see the invoice. On it you will see what the GMS price is. Under that, you will see the GMSD Price. It is listed on the invoice as well. Using your figures, GMS = 43,439.25. Thus, GMSD (GMSupplier Discount Price= 44,972.40. Howard

I would say it is, I just picked up a 06lbz fairley well loaded, the sticker was just under $49,000 I got gms pricing at $40,800 then another $1000.00 rebate off that, so just for being an employee I got one for $39,800. as a dealer buying them whosale I would belive that price is possible.

I have been doing a lot of research and the 06 truck I am ordering is fully loaded, everything except the roof marker lights and the Onstar and the MSRP is $51,200 and I have gone through approximately 20 different dealerships and I finally got someone to give it to me at a price I am happy with... $43,500 and then when it arrives, if there is any rebates at the time of pickup that will be applied as well. It takes time, patients and several dealerships to want your business to work with you.

Best deal I found so far is COSTCO financing. Just register online, if approved, they send you a blank check that is only good up to the amount you requested. Then you are locked in at that interest rate until you finally write the check. The check is only good for up to 90 days. Now, if you happen to notice their interest rates to go down while you are waiting for the truck, you can call them and they will lock you into the new interest rate. But if it goes up, you don't have to worry. Their interest was the lowest I could find. Believe it or not, a dealership I talked to gave me that information. I wasn't a member of Costco until then. Now, I am just waiting on my truck. www.costcoauto.com
