How are you guys (that are doing it) making a rear electronic kill switch, can I take out the ECM fuse and run two leads to the back of the truck and just add the fuse in line between the fuse box and my rear kill switch??

I know a lot of guys do it like you said but it would be better to use a relay so that you are not running your power wire all the way to the back of the truck and then to the front again. Let me know if you need a schematic, I can draw one up quick.

Ok I think I see what you mean, a relay would be a much better idea I would need a four pole relay that's always closed right

Yes, just a standard bosch four pole relay will work. I usually use a trailer break away switch in the back of the truck and they are a normally open switch so I always ground the relay to activate the relay.

I would run the ground wire for the relay to the back of the truck just so that you don't have a power wire running that far, but that is just me!

Wire running from the ecm fuse running back to a normally opn breakaway switch, other side of the switch goes to ground. when the breakaway is pulle it grounds the power and blows the fuse. Motor and lift pump dies immediatly.

easiest thing to use for the switch is a trailer breaks break-a-way set up......

Replace that fuse with a relay and all you would have to do is put the pull pin back in the break away switch.

or a circuit breaker that way all u need to do is push the reset and plug your break away back in and u would be good to go

x2 that works out too

Buy a 20ft extension cord and cut the male end off about 6 inches back. Remove the ECM fuse under the hood and attach one wire from the long end to each side of the ECM fuse slot (I added an inline fuse here so that it is still fused). Run the cord to the rear bumper and attach the female end back there ( I zip tied mine to my sled stops). Then take your 6 inch tag and hook the black and white wires together and then simply plug it into the female end. I put a ring back there but the wires could probably be used as the loop also. This makes the complete circuit and if you pull the plug it kills it. Simple, cheap, and effective. I bought the extension cord for $4.99 at Big Lots and you don't have to worry about blowing fuses just to test the kill switch for a tech. I just put the normal ECM fuse back in if I am driving the truck around normally. I'm not too worried about the cord grounding itself out going back along the truck, they are pretty tough to begin with and anything questionable I put wire loom around.

That was my original intent to do that I have a bracket already for the rear plug so that way it's mounted solid!! I have a bunch of ideas here so thanks alot guys I'll get it together and I'll let u know how I make out thanks!!

i used a relay, but ran the ground all the way back, no 12v source to ground out. i also used a tether switch. no fuses to pop. kinda like a trailer break away switch, but only like 5 bucks

Just to verify u guys are using the 25amp ECM fuse right not the ign fuse or something else correct??

I blew the fuse for the ecm and put to taps on both sides of the fuse. Ran two wires back to a jet ski tether switch that was normally closed. The hot side I put a fuse on. The return side powered the ecm and the lift pump. Pull switch, open circuit and kill the truck. I also used the normally open side of the tether to operate my electronic air shut off solenoid.

Some or your guys' associations require electric kills? Ours just requires a mechanical (air shut off) so i havent put and electrical on

No they just require some kind of kill switch a electronic kill switch is just easer and safe plus alot cheaper

mine org requires both, plus kill the fuel/lift pump, and a fuel dump valve
