bought me a 03 w 99.8k on the clock, noticed horrible blue smoke half way home when she warmed up, took back to dealer next day and said 2 injectors were shot. GM says no to coverage due to 7 yrs up 3 months ago. I bought it w 50/50 warranty so now they want me to pay $2500, I feel i shouldnt pay anything due to this being an existing problem, also i took it thru inspection where they failed it for excessive smoke. I filed a complaint w attorney general but theres gotta be someting out there that can put the law on my side...any help guys would be great.

It may depend on the state you bought it in.
So it was not tagged As-Is No Warranty?
The GM warranty is over for sure. Not seen really anyone get anything after 7 years.
The $2500 would be the half it normally cost for sure. The average is $5000 on LB7 from GM service. As for parts only you be around $2600 for 8 injectors and kit for gaskets and such. You can check over at Merchant Automotive to see cost of injectors and the kit for replacement.

I'm sorry about your luck. I don't know about the legal side of things but what probably happened is someone got the news that their injectors were bad. Instead of fixing them they traded the truck and the dealer sold it to you with the existing problem. I've heard it a lot on here before, and with the warranty running short on the LB7's this seems to have become a bit of an epidemic. I would tell the dealer to fix them as they sold the truck with a known issue, now you have a truck that will not even pass inspection. If I can help, shoot me a PM. Please keep us updated on the situation

First off its nice to meet someone else from DE! They are good people, that's where my truck came from. The company I work for actually does a lot of work for them on HVAC type stuff. I just wish dealers would start doing checks on these trucks, or at least a little bit better examination. Like I said before LB7 owners are freaking out cause the 7/200k warranty is about done on them, so they are trading them with bad injectors. This is about the 3rd case I've heard this week. Don't let it affect your view on the dmax though, in fact LB7 injectors can be done for about $1,500 yourself. Detailed instructions are here on the site. Though I still wouldn't do the ones on this truck since it came this way, let them get their hands dirty on it
