: Edge CTS or Banks IQ what is better?
ChevyDiezel 01-21-2011, 07:36 PM What one do u think is better all around for a daily driver and towing 12k pounds 10times a year. Now lets leave EFI and PPE out of this LOL :D.
Now if you had to choose between the two, what one would you pick and why please???? Thanks guys Im tossed between the 2 thats why I ask.
ChevyDiezel 01-25-2011, 01:10 AM Anyone lol
mreeves23 01-25-2011, 09:41 AM Personally, my vote would go towards Edge CTS. I've been extremely pleased with their monitoring and programming of the CS/CTS units. I feel they exceed the Banks in these 2 categories. They tuning is very smooth power and gives good driveability and shifting characteristics. I can help out with the purchase of either unit if you would like. I can answer anymore questions you may have as well.
ChevyDiezel 01-25-2011, 12:00 PM So after reading about 100 post because the search button suck ass....It looks like the EDGE is the way to go. Unless someone can tell me otherwise please.

Change on the fly power levels (no reprogram needed)
Can be upgraded with a speed brake exhaust brak system
Built in GPS reciver allowing you to upgrade the IQ to full GPS ability (banks Nav)

Upgradable to be used on any car or truck
Larger screen with better visability
Upgradable with the Banks Speed racing system later this year.

maplelawnfarm 01-25-2011, 01:44 PM I have been leaning towards the Edge CTS Race (DPF options). Seems like most people are very satisfied with the results. I like the option of the video input so you can connect a backup camera. I think I'll wait to buy one until my warranty is up though.

Depends on the driver more than anything. Some get 2-4mpg better, some get nothing at all. The same thing can be said for the truck itself. Take the same driver and 10 different trucks all 10 trucks are different, take 1 truck and 10 drivers, same result. To help better track your mileage, distance to empty, and cost per mile and per trip the iQ also has a fuel economy monitoring feature. Right now it functions on the LMM but there will be a free download for the LLY/LBZ engines in a few weeks. The new monitoring takes into account the new boost and fueling of the tuner and, in the case of the lmm, the DPF regen as well. This this screen here:

Turbo timer, water meth control, nitrous control, and custom tuning are all going to be added later this year. There will be a charge for some items if there is any hardware needed, for example the nitrous controller:D
Diesel Wanna Be 01-26-2011, 02:03 PM Keep in mind that Banks only supports their products if purchased direct.
So if you're thinking of buying a used one, you're SOL if you have an issue.

That's correct, there is no warranty on used items. If you need a factory direct price just shoot me a PM:D
marcusallen 01-26-2011, 06:17 PM If money was no object, I would have gone with the Banks. When I retire (in 10 years, I hope) and start traveling more, I hope to have a Banks or equivilent system in my truck.
As it is, I went with the Edge CS. For my needs, it works just great. It has turbo braking on tune level 2, which I really appreciate when towing. With Banks, turbo braking is extra. Now, the turbo braking with the Banks system is superior because it is adjustable, but again, for the money, the Edge works for me.
Lunchbox 03-02-2011, 02:22 PM Edge's CS and CTS will have a turbo timer available soon. Just something to think about.
PrivatePilot 03-02-2011, 03:00 PM Moved to second generation electronics.

Good to know, would that be available for the CTS insight as well?

If you buy the EAS system probe, then yes.. It will be upgrade charge to get the true boost monitoring & the turbo timer.. They are still in testing so no pricing is available yet.
hbilow 03-02-2011, 03:55 PM Excellent. I was starting to wonder if the EAS system would ever be developed beyond the EGT sensor.
