I have a irrigation power unit that seems to be getting some plugged nozzles. The COOP tells me that if I run a 10-20% bio diesel that it will clean them up in no time. Is there any truth to this? I figure once they're gettin plugged there's probablly not much fix but to take the injectors out and get the nozzles cleaned up.
Can anyone chime in on this?

Biodiesel has excellent solvent characteristics. That is why on older vehicles it is recommended to change filters after beginning to run higher percentages of biodiesel. The gunk that builds up over time with dino diesel is dissolved by the bio and ends up in the filter.
As and aside, I finally talked Dad into using it in his solvent sink rather than kerosene and he was amazed at how much better it is for cleaning up bearings and such. Also much safer and smells better.

do you think it'll clean up injector nozzles on an old 2900 allis power unit or will it just free up all the gunk in 1000 gal fuel tank and plug up the filters? I'm heading out right now to change the tank and engine filter to see if thats all the problem is, but I think its worse...

It probably won't hurt to try it with the injectors. It also may very well plug your filters the first couple tanks, too. An injector cleaner the Mercedes guys swear by is Diesel Purge. It is kind of hard to find, but an internet search should bring it up.
Why you worried about your power unit today, anyway? Aren't you guys getting rain up that way today?
