: LLY: banks speedbrake alstoy 01-17-2011, 11:56 PM I have just installed the banks speedbrake in my 2005 LLY. I am experiencing some occational hard downshifts when set in the low setting and brake activation mode. This is with an empty pickup. Is this just the learning process for the transmission with the new speedbrake? Or can I expect this to continue and is it a concern? Does it do it on any other strength setting? alstoy 01-21-2011, 01:06 AM I have been running it on medium setting for the last couple of days and it does not seem to do it as much. The odd time there is a noticeable downshift from third to second while the other gears feel normal. I will continue to monitor it to see if it will settle down some more. Have you tried the FB setting yet? That setting is the most agressive and it's something you can control with the foot brake. This way you can try it at different speeds to see if it's doing it anywhere else. alstoy 01-21-2011, 10:41 PM I have been running it in the foot brake activation mode and have not seen the hard downshift lately. I am hopefull that it was a learning thing for the transmission. I have not had the opportunity to test it with my 12000 # fifthwheel yet but am hopefull that thats where the big benefit is.
