I need some help / advice
Last week I had 1 or more fuel injectors fail (so I am told) on my 2002 Duramax with 65,000 miles on it - nonetheless it is at the dealer right now and they are replacing all of the injectors. My concern is the wear that occurred in the engine. Has anybody out there had this problem and how did it get resolved - more specifically has anyone had any luck in getting the motor replaced??
Please let me know keislerd@yahoo.com

You are lucky that you are getting all 8 injectors replaced. Just make sure they clean the fittings with a vacum cleaner before install. Also maybe get them to change the injector sleeves. Hoot knows more about this than I do. Diesel fuel does have some lubrication so it is not the end of the world. I wish they would replace the engine when this happened. it would make us all fill better. It would also motivate them to builsd an engine that atleast made it through warranty. Were you running any altered injector timing via a programmer or module?
The smart thing to do is get a sample of the oil that is in it before they dump it. Get it analyzed as well as your first few oil changes. Excessive wear shows up in the analysis. I think someone had that done a long time ago when theirs filled and the analysis came out ok.

If your not making this up, something else is obviously wrong if your truck is using injectors like that. Otherwise I'd say you've been siphoning fuel out of heating oil tanks.
