I have been waiting also. I'm starting to see a few in my area within the last week. Unfortunately their all Chevy's and I'm wanting a GMC. What's up with the GMC's? A large Chevy dealership had about 8-10 on the lot as of Friday, where's the GMC's

I just drove mine tonight!! I take delivery tomorrow!!

The engines were starting to be built on Dec. 8th. One of the posters at the auto show, said he'd talked to someone who worked the assembly line, and the trucks didn't start being built until about the middle of the month.


I think the first mention I saw of them on the lots was one of the techs who posts here and is from Oregon, said he saw the first ones on the lot Dec30.


According to my dealer and Howard, mine should be here the end of this week or first part of next week. It's got to have some dealer accesories installed, undercoated, etc. but I'll be yapping about it when I get it I'm sure...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

GMC only makes about 1/3 the number of trucks Chevy does, so it just takes longer. I got to admit that it kind of burns you when there are dealer stock orders for Chevy showing up on the lots and my sold order for a GMC is still not here, but that's the way it goes. They'll be around in a bit, but you won't ever find them in the numbers that you will Chevy's.

Somewhere I heard that GMC only makes 800 Durmaxed HD's a month? (with Durmax's) I bet someone here knows whether that's true or not. For some reason I doubt that it is. Just seems like to small of a number.

I am a manager at a GMC dealer. Placed a sold order for my truck early Dec, and the order hasn't been pulled by GM yet. Edited by: martyb

I placed an order for a D/A GMC at the PX here on camp. Told them I wanted it in mid May. They said no problem. Because I realy didn't go through a dealer I'm interested in how well this will work. Did get a good price on it though!! Just hope it shows up on time.

I just brought mine home!! I am so stoked after being "off the saddle" for a month and a half when my '03 was wrecked.


Quick rundown: LS, Silver Birch, Buckets, XM, D/A (of course) Tow Pkg, Plow Pkg, etc, etc, etc.


It's cold and dark outside so I couldn't get any really good pics of it.

I suppose mine was one of those from the first week. Built January 2nd, delivered on the 12th. Absolutely love this thing. I have been so busy driving it I haven't been online much lately. Sooner or later, I'll be off work when it is light out and I'll get some pictures to post. . .

Topgas, my '03 wasn't a diesel, it was a 6.0L so the difference is night and day.
