Alright...I know this is a stupid stupid mistake (almost as stupid as when I didnt latch the hood, went to bed, and drove off the next morning to have the hood fly up) but when I was putting on my MBRP Cool Dual's I removed the right rear shock to get t he stock exhaust out. Well needless to say, I put the shock back on but forgot to tighten the bottom bolt. I was driving down the road and kept hearing this scraping noise...pulled over and looked underneath to see the shock hanging down by the top mounting point. So I lost the bottom bolt somewhere on the road. Is it safe to drive just to the dealer to get a new bolt and nut? I assume it is but just would like some confirmation.
thanks----Ben

Just try to drive as few miles as possible and you wont break anything.

Remove the shock altogether to make sure it doesn't scrape anymore. You can drive it without a rear shock, shouldn't hurt anything. Most likely the dealer will not have a the exact replacement bolt in stock but you should be able to make something work.

Just pull the shock off for now and get a bolt from a parts store that won't rape you...

The dealer has many exact replacement bolts, just crawl under any truck on the new car lot and find the one you want:laugh_exp

:funnypost Remember to go there after-hours, too. Those salespeople get a little uptight when you bring your tool box to check out a new truck.
Ben..didn't I TELL you to slow down and be patient?

Tom...funny you should say that because when I looked down under the truck and saw the shock hanging, I thought to myself "haha and I just read a PM from Tom telling me to slow down..." Off to the dealer and/or hardware store I go!!
