I run an hx35w on my cummins. I would probably be a good turbo for your 6.5, it builds boost at low rpms and the factory wastegate is set between 20 and 25 psi. The wastegate operates on boost pressure and is easily modified with an orfice elbow to increase boost. I currently run a max of 35 psi on mine. I would stay away from the hy35 from a performance standpoint, because it has a very small 9cm exhaust housing that spools very quick, but won't support a lot of power and causes very high egt's with a modded engine. The hx35 has a 12 cm exhaust housing and is good to about 350 rwhp. It still has a small exhaust housing for all out performance, but is a good compromise.;)

I have a Holset Actuator on my IHI GM-4 turbo. Haven't had any luck finding one that will bolt on as a replacement, Holset or not, atleast not without some serious modding.

i think the hy35 would work great on the 6.5TD's... it is small enough to spool well on the 6.5td... heck, it is used on all early 3rd gen cummins engines [hy35 on 03-04, he351 on 04.5-05 have hx40 compressor] and the early 3rd gen's make 300hp+ from factory... that little hy35 can support about 350hp before temps get out of control...
