My seatbelt squeaks as it rolls in and out of the top roller and it's driving me Censored -ing nuts! Any way of getting in there and lubing it so it doesn't squeak? It's built into the seat (like they all are I'm sure) and there doesn't seem to be any way to get to the roller...
thanks!

Get a can of WD-40 & attach the little red "straw" that comes with it. Use a flashlight to look into the seatbelt slot. Apply a small amount of WD-40 to both sides of the reel. Pull the seatbelt in & out a few times to get it worked in.
Worked for me, anyway.
On edit: You can also pop the plastic cover off with a screw driver to make it easier to see.

We did the same, pulling the seatbelt all the way out, but with silicone spray. Needs to be done again though.

:duh: I frankly never thought of that! I was thinking that I'd be taking it apart somehow and lubing with a small bit of grease or something. I'm sure it's probably minor, but I wonder what the long term effects on excess lube that drips from the assembly onto the foam inside the seat. I think I'd spray something only as a last resort.

We didn't look for a way to take the seat apart yet, as we were on vacation in Fairbanks at the time. With a 400 mile drive back home, we didn't want to mess with the seat.
Remington makes a dry synthetic lubricant that does't smell. It works well for lubing the slides on semi-autos. I don't think you will have any issues with it dripping and ruing the seat cloth or foam. I would pull the plastic housing and get the belt all the way out, that way it won't get on the belt and accumulated dust and dirt and look like helll.
Out!

That's why I said use a small amount & use the red straw to place it properly. When I first got my truck, the seatbelt reel squeeked every time you moved. Just a quick (& I do mean quick) squirt of WD-40 on each side cured it, & I haven't heard it since. If nothing else, soak a Q-tip in some kind of lubricant, & dab the sides of the reel so you don't hurt the foam in your seat.

Did you take the ALCAN? Saw a TV show about it and since then I've always wanted to drive it with my truck, TT, and a lot of film...

We've driven the ALCAN twice up and once down. The ALCAN goes through Canada. Going to Fairbanks you take the highway in Alaska that goes through Denali, the only one that goes north.
