Getting ready to re-wire the truck with a kit from Painless. The military left such a hack job that I feel this is the only way to clean things up. Anyone here done this before? Looks pretty straight foreward, but any advise is welcome.

I have wired many streetrods. I am currently doing my first painless kit on a 40 Ford pickup. I usually do them old school from scratch I gotta say this painless kit is preaty simple and straight forward. just keep your wires going to the right place and you should be alright.

What harness/harnesses are you re-doing? Some of the harnesses may be available from Walker Trucking in Hesperia CA. I know the engine compartment harness usually gets cut out of parts CUCV's first.

This was an ambulance, and they apparently had about 50 things spliced into everthing possible under the hood running to the ambulance box. The rear of the fuse block, the underhood part, has been mangeld up pretty good and is covered in a tar like substance Censored . There are dead wires, live wires, and half a dozen fuse blocks.

The truck runs well.... But it is scary to look under the hood.
