I have a 2009 3500 bone stock. I would like to add a little horsepower and torque with out doing exhaust or anything major at this point. Can this be done with a tuner?

Sure you can. I'd checkout Diablo or Superchips for a low cost/low HP tuning. You can stick with the truck's stock setup and just add a tuner.

Yes you can do that with many different tuners. Seeing you not been here long just have to be sure you know any tuner that alters the ECM is trackable by GM if they check for it depending on issues you may have so here they can void your warranty.

ive been lurking and reading a lot of good posts. information overload at times. i guess that really is my question is there a tuner i can install that does not alter the ecm. i only have 20000 miles on it and do not want to void the warranty.

The only options are module systems that plug in and sold by Edge called the juice with attitude and the Banks system. But of course the 2009 record the HP put to the Allison so if it will record the max HP it has been put to it. If over the spec then GM will know something was up. Also module systems do not disable the DPF system on the exhaust. Only can be done with a reprogramming of the ECM. If you really want to have no issues with warranty leave it all stock, no mods, and left alone till 100,000 miles.

Know what you are getting yourself into before you start making changes that jeopardize your warranty. Some worthwhile reading:

Take this advice! Although I haven't had any issues with my truck with the DPF deleted and tuned for almost 42K miles now. I wish I had read more and gone this route from the beginning. Chris
