I had my Tan NSBU switch changed just under a year ago. Actually the previous owner did. Anyway, this switch is on its way out too. Have any of you had the newer tan switch go out on you?

I've gotten a bad one ,could have been screwed up by a previous install not on my truck ,it was on loan ... http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Anything is possible there could be crack in it which let moisture to enter to premature failure of the NSBU itself ....

It's simple to change and cost under 50 bucks thru an Allison dealer ...

Mackin' Thanks to you I found out about this sitehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I thought my connections were loose or corroded but all was ok. To be on the safe side I sprayed some WD-40 in them(hope that was ok?) I hope the new switch does the trick. Thanks.

Mine went this weekend. Went to Allison dealer and bought the new tan switch for $44.00.

I found out why we are having problems with them. They are made by a company by the name of LUCAS. For those who havent heard of them they were the supplier for all the old British cars and some Fords made in England. Thats why the early Jaguars had sooo many electrical problems.

Their claim to fame is that they are "The inventors of Darkness"!

What happend to good ole Delco or Delphi electronics? I suspect I will be replacing it sometime in the next few years.
