Has anyone tried a conversion kit on a duramax engine. With diesel prices sky rocketing I'm seriously looking into an alternate fuel system for my diesel.
They sell conversion kits but not sure if they are made for the duramax. The conversion kits are for running Veggie oil. They make it sound simple. From what i have read thus far the veggie oil is better for your engine as it is more oil based.
Looking for ideas, coments, concerns, pros, cons.

thanks

Buy a VW and sell your truck if you can't afford the fuel. You're over your head in bills if that's the deal. Hate to be honest but if it's that close lower your debt and make more money. The TDI gets 50 mpg and that's 3x better than a Dmax all the time. Just have to be real about it because fuel is only going higher next yr. Oil is going to $115 plus to keep the poor Arabs in robes and Mercedes don't we all feel sorry for those bastards. Their oil costs a whole $3 to get out of the ground.

You can buy alot of diesel for what those kits cost imo. I personally wouldn't run un-processed, used veggie oil in my truck but that's just me. I do make and run my own bio-diesel. We have 3 vehicles and several oil furnaces that love the stuff. Entering our 4th season now.

You run bio diesel in a duramax?? What Maxine do you have to make your own bio??

Not sure what you mean by "Maxine"...that's a comic character iirc but yes I run bio-diesel for 8 months out of the year. I use a bio-pro-190 to make my fuel.
I collect the used oil from the diners and convert it. You can check out www.utahiodieselsupply.com he may have some good kits for what you're hoping to do as well.
