I am not sure of the stage 4 compared to the stage 5 in pricing but I would guess it is only a couple of hundred dollars difference. Go with the bigger one.
This way you will not be saying things like "Damn I wish I got the stage 5. Better to go above and beyond than to wish you had it.

The stage 4 and 5 for ATS are about a thousand dollars difference. I think that if you are going to spend the money you might as well go all out. Then if you really want to step up you can install the Extreme, that will set you back about $8K or maybe a little less... Good luck..

extreme supports up to 1000hp  i dont think that ill be needing that. stage 5 supports 700ho so that'll prob be the one.

The only difference between stage 4 & 5 is the co-pilot, 4 doesn't have & 5 does. Power capacities as said on their site is 550 vs. 700.
If you can afford it go with the 5, but if not get the 4 & add the co-pilot later.
Or a couple of other options if you want to rebuild your tranny, stage 3 & add C4s &C5s to the kit or the triplelok with C4s & C5s, add co-pilot later.

The ATS transmissions I believe are all built in Stages , each Stage contains parts from the actual STAGE 1,2,3 kits..........there are three parts, Converter with flow valve, Clutches and a CO-PILOT.........

The best value is a kit, if you want a warranty, buy the drop in.........

As far as Suncoast, the New STAGE III and STAGE IV kits are quite different, both built off of the Trans-Go shift kit and Hot Rod Booster valve..........they have different clutch counts in each kit, and a few other minor changes..........for the extra $500 or so I would have opted for a STAGE IV last year, but it was not available...........however my STAGE III has one less C3 clutch than a current STAGE IV and slightly lower main line pressure............the STAGE III has changed over that past year........

I have had zero problems with mine SC-III.........and it has been pushed at 500 HP for some 15K+++ miles driving daily as well as 100 or so high boost launch passes at the track........

Either one will be fine.........I added the Co-Pilot and IMHO has made a nice difference..........but some will argue that it's not worth the price.........for me it was worth it........

Good Luck..........

I have the stage III, and had no problems what's so ever. At the time stage III was the biggest and best.

You may want to talk to Clint for recommendations, but if you plan to spray and run big power, I believe the recommendation will be the Extreme trans. This is the jist that I got from our last phone conversation, but I MAY have misunderstood. Sufficew to say you cannot buy too much transmission.
