I have a 1998 1/2ton with 267,000 miles. i am getting a number 2 cylender misfire code. It seems to do this most often in the winter time. I have changed the cap, rotor, plugs and wires and also the distrubter(sp) and I am still getting this code. when I am doing 55-60 mph, the tack is around 2,000. The truck will lunge and the tack will drop to about 600 rpm then jump right back up to 2,000. Can anyone help me out?

I would run a quick compression check on that cylinder and the ones next to it, to compare the numbers. If they are all close to the same, then I would suspect an injector problem. If you have access to a Tech2 you can do a cylinder balance test to check to see if that injector is pulsating correctly.

These were noted for cracked fuel lines going to the injector, most likely the problem.
