i dont think you can add a new gm xm to the vehicle, needs to be programmed with the truck. But delphi makes a unit that hooks into truck radio system and is removable to take inside and put in a radio there. It can be bought at stores like circut city. Its not a very expensive unit.

You can buy the original factory installed XM and add it your self.

They give you the antenna, which you drill 2 holes on your roof for and the tuner that goes behind the glove box (very easy to put in) and the wiring to connect to the radio itself.

I bought mine from Eric, about 340 or so.

Hardest part was getting up the nerve to drill the roof :)
(Don't drill it to far forward) Thers a pattern sheet that you set on the roof to get the proper location for the holes.

Just make sure your factory radio has a Aux button on it to switch to the XM.

Good Luck
