First off, what is the RPO code for block heater? Second, if this '05 Duramax I'm speaking of has one, where would I find it? The truck was just driven off the lot a few days ago and we can't seem to find a plug anywhere for the block heater.

Thanks,
SnowDrift

If it has one it will be tied up on passenger side about center of the motor and it a biatch to get at.

Mine was tied to the the battery cable right by the right frame rail.

Like smokndmax said, follow the battery cables down on the passenger side battery.

It definatly has a block heater, i believe all duramax's come with a block heater.

Edit: you'll find that the cord doesnt have enough length as is to run it anywhere permanent. What you can do is unclip the plastic clip holder thing and pull the cord out of the wire loom farther back and then run it out through a tow hook hole or something.

Just for reference, all DMAXs have the block heater. The only issue is finding the cord.

I moved mine up to above the headlight (just forward of the airbox) when I had the wheel liner out to install the pyro probe. It's a tight fit, but at least it is somewhere I can get to if it is needed.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the information on the cord location. I had gotten a quote to have one installed and it was $200. If I'm in your area, I'll get you a beer!
