Hello. Like it says. If I pop in a Comp cam, will the truck run OK until I get a chance to send the PCM back to Blackbear? Or will I get immediate CEL's or "limp mode" or some weird crap like that?

Thanx.

You should be fine but a retune will help a lot.

It will run like crap, the computer has no idea that you put another cam into the engine until you tell it. It will probably get horrible mileage and run like crap. I would send the pcm out for a re-tune the second you remove the first bolt to install the cam. Just my

What cam are you putting in it? I would NOT run my truck untuned myself. Why chance it?

Thanx for taking the time to share guys. I am either going with the 270 or 264 from comp cams.

I know sending it to Blackbear is a good idea, especially since re-tunes are free. I was just wondering if w/the current tune & a new cam if it will run like a sick old dog.

What are the cam specs @ .050"? More than likely it will run but timing, fueling and your AFR will be way off and not worth the risk.
