I know there are some other guys on this site besides myself who pull gassers.

Does anybody know of a forum for gas pull trucks?

Specifically pro street, hot street, or modified street trucks?

I started out pulling in Stock, then went to Pro Stock, and now I pull a Super Stock truck that has a 532 cu in BBC in it.

Diggin Deeper- Nice! But I don't think I can compete with that. LOL!

Anyhow, my main focus for right now is to see what other pulling organizations are doing for rules.

I have been pulling the same truck for 15+ years now. I am in the process of a total ground up restoration. And as such, I am looking at building my truck in a manner that will fit into the rules of almost any organization that puts on pulls in the midwestern U.S. Sadly, some of the pulling organizations that I pulled with in the past no longer exist.

I don't ever plan on selling my truck, and now that I am building it into a dedicated puller I hope to have something that will settle into everybody's rules without much conflict. After my youngest son graduates high school in a couple of years, I hope to travel with my truck to more pulls farther from home. Doing so will require me to build a truck that fits many compromises........No problem, I don't look to run with anybody for points ever again, too much hassle in doing that, so consistency is not much of a concern. I just want something that I can show up anywhere and compete with.

To be able to afford to put this truck back together, I will have to put off building a new engine for about 2 years. So for now, I am sort of stuck with a streetable 500hp engine.....Still enough to have fun with, just not going to whoop anybody........Well for now atleast.

One thing that I have done is to search for pulling organizations. By downloading their rules, and schedules, I can get a feel of what I need, and what isn't worth messing with. Obviously much of this information changes from year to year, but by bookmarking these pulling homepages, I can refer back to them later.

bubba2400-

I checked out that forum, seems like a new site, but there also seems to be some good chaps on there, so I am thinking about signing up.

BTW, here is a recent, but not up to date pic of my truck.....

Don't know where you are located exactly but hopefully this helps. Good luck with the build!!

I was hoping this was the same "engineer" building a sweet square body puller as I've been following over on 73-87chevy.

Ancious to see it come together. ;)

I just noticed you talked about rebuilding the big motor. With the smaller motor you might check out www.nwmtpa.com they are in northwest missouri.

I will be tearing down the SM465/NP205 this weekend. Got all new 32 spline out shafts for the 205. The 465 just needs cleaned, and resealed.

Still looking for a Lakewood bell housing.

Hope to get all of the drivetrain done, and the engine back in by March......So far, so good on that timeline.

All that will leave is the body work.......Need warm weather for that phase.

Anybody know anything about this brand of bellhousing..........

They claim SFI cert.
