About 50/50 on highway/city driving. I haven't towed anything with it yet and I'm lucky to see 14.5 mpg, hand calculated. 63000 mi. on the ticker. Completely bone stock about 4 tanks on new fuel filter, new air filter, and new tranny fluid. Is there a flash or anything to help this? I know there are alot of factors, it just seems like 95% of the posts I read on fuel mileage are quite a bit better than what I'm getting. I sold a '99 powerjoke that was lifted 6", had 35" tires, chipped and piped, it got about 16mpg no matter how I drove. I swear I'm not whining cause my dmax is still a million times the truck that psd was. Just hoping better mileage would come with it.

I hear a lot of "STORIES" about people getting up to 20 mpg or over. Both with DM's and PSD's. We run several of both here on the farm and none get over 15 mpg. Never did and probably never will. Not on the farm for sure but several go on long trips and still don't get that 15+ mpg. Maybe I need to drive 50-55 with a 40 mph tailwind. Then I might see it but not at regular highway speeds (65-75)
Still, they get a lot better milage then the gassers!

Hey woody I think my mileage was the same or at least close when it was new, I added a lift and it did not really go down much. Then I added a programer, exhaust, intake and approaching 31,000 miles so she is definatly more broke in and I get 16-17 mpg 50/50 hiway & city and 18-18.6mpg at 75-80 highway. These are calculated and not off what the truck sais.

I just looked at your sig and the 4 door long bed may make some diference because of the extra weight but shouldn't make to much diference.

I have 35,000 miles on my stock D-max with 265 75 16 revos and am getting approx 15-16 with 80% freeway. I drive around 70mph on the freeway. I did get 18.2 coming back from mamouth this year driving 75-78 mph.

I towed our 7500 lbs trailer for two weeks and averaged 10.6 mpg. It was 100+ outside and the AC was on. I guess I can't complain with a 3/4 ton 4X4 truck.

So I can tell the wife that getting a chip, intake, exhaust, and a lift, and tell the wife that when it's all done we'll be getting 24 mpg. Then I'll just play dumb when it doesn't turn out that way.http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_7.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSzeb008)http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_1.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSzeb008)

My bone stock 03' gets ~19.5-21.5 mpg @ 65mph (no head wind) I've driven to Detroit and back with the needle pinned @ 75mph and averaged 18.5. Pulling my 32' Challenger 5th wheel (weight ~11,500lbs) @ about 62mph I averaged 10.5mpg pulling it faster 70-75 mph 8.5-9mpg :-(

Best we've ever gotten was ~30 mpg, driving 65-68 (2000 RPM) with a 30-50 mph tailwind. It sucked to have to stop and loose that, but we were just to tired. This was during the 4 day 4000 mile drive in winter.

We normally get ~17 MPG, as there really aren't highways in and around Anchorage, just the one in or out. On the trip to Fairbanks doing 65, we got ~ 20-21 MPG. That's highway.

Going 2K RPMs I am travelling 71 mph and averaging 18. If I slow down more it improves. If I go 76 - 78, I get 15.5 mpg.

You can see in my signiture what I drive. I have never got better than 16 mpg and that was on a trip and it was way back when it was bone stock. I normally get around 13-14 driving around in the country. I can't imagine getting 20 mpg that sure would be nice.

I just filled up last night and the calculation came out to 14.30 mpg. That's sucks in my opinion. Yesterday, talked to a guy that works accross the street from me, he's got an '03 CC, SB, w/ a 6" lift, Edge set on 3, exhaust and intake and he averages 18 mpg hand calculated.http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_28.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSzeb008)

I keep a fuel log and enter all the information into an Excel spread sheet.
I have put almost 6000 miles on my truck (bought used) and have averaged 16.483 MPG.
Best MPG = 19.8
Worst MPG = 13.2
Edge with Attitude set on 1 or 2.
I set the Edge on 3 for one tank.......the 13.2 mpg one;)

It's true, some get GREAT MPG and other kind'a suck. My truck gets about 16 to mayyyy be 17 @ 70-75. My buddies truck gets about 19-20, no kidding. Both trucks 'about' equal.... my truck with 330RWHP and his with 360 RWHP. Go figure.......

I do about 90% stop & go driving and average right at 16.5 mpg. Highway, usually over 20 mpg. Both empty.

Have logged fuel mileage since new,now at 60,000 miles.Have done 19 to 21 mpg at 70mph consistently even doing good in winter months but useually drive long distances.Last early October mileage dropped quite a bit even for winter mileage.Did a lot of testing and checking things when fuel mileage did not come back up in April.Dealership updated computer which didnot help.Update concerned fuel mileage and emissions,it definitely took away some power in 5th gear.Afew weeks later mileage came back, have not figured this out except for fuel quality maybe.Installed the Edge EZ a week ago and the 5th gear power is surely there, along with a bit better mpg.I wonder if the programming on some of the trucks with the poor fuel mileage just is not right.I run 60psi front,55psi rears empty.Had highway ribs on for 48,000 miles at which time put on Michelin LTX MS.Figure I lost a half a mpg right there at highway speeds, the highway ribs got to roll easier than any block type tread. These LB7 ENGINES shoud put out 19mpg easily going 70 mph at a reasonable distance.

The 285s are costing you dearly in mileage especially when running them down around 45 PSI or less. Later! Frank
