benz_020 08-09-2005, 02:42 AM wish i could have it setup by friday when i go back to the track
omg, you cant understand how excited i am right now
benz_020 08-09-2005, 02:46 AM also tell about anything else that will have to be done or added to make this work properly and safe.
Slick 08-09-2005, 07:12 AM There have only been a handful of people with twins on this board. You may want to pm Idaho CTD. He has fabbed up a few sets for some on here. Got Juice? is the only one with an LB7, there are 3 or 4 with them on LLY's.
Also, there is an edit button on the bottom of posts that you make. You might want to use it to add to old posts, instead of making new ones right after each other.:)
ratlover 08-09-2005, 08:54 AM You ever think about N2O?
The only guys with twins are a small group that a vendor put together for them and they are about to go on sale. I doubt the vendor or the guys he built em for is going to give you a step by step on how to copy his work;)
sp33d 08-09-2005, 10:15 AM There is no one out there that is going to give you a step by step and parts list for building them. Since only a few exist twin setups exist currently and the people that designed and built them are selling them this would be against their best interests.

1 Where to get parts : IdahoCTD
2 What parts were used see#1
3 What had to be Fabricated see#1
4 What had to be moved/altered see#1
5 Everything i did step by step? Drove a Ford for a while until it was finished
Seriously, It might be in your best interest to PM Nathan (IdahoCTD) and ask these questions.
Elowe65 08-09-2005, 11:56 AM Questions regarding twins on a LB7;
What is the other turbo from? (application wise, is it just another LB7 turbo, or is it an aftermarket unit, or what tractor it off of?)
Once installed, is there any reporgramming of the factory ECU required? (programming of maps for higher boost levels, higher than factory MAP and MAF sensor limits?)
Are there any sensor swaps required and if so, what sensors need to be changed? (I assume the factory MAP sensor would need to be changed for a 5bar unit as approx. 30psi is the limit for the factory 3bar and it seems that would have some limits within the factory ECU, or does the aftermarket programmers just keep adding a set amount of fuel for 50+psi, regardless of what the sensors read?)
Thanks in advance.
Eric

#1 I do not know what it is. No Identifying markings on it. Nathan didn't volunteer what it was when i asked.
#2 I think running a boost fooling program (Juice/TTS/PPE/Others) prevents the 0234 blues. My sensors are all GM factory. Regardless of what the sensors read we seem to have the ability to fuel very hard independant of their input.
#2a) I'm thinking as development time gets further along someone will program in a larger scale value MAP sensor that would not trip an ECM code. But that's only a supposition on my part.

twins has an initial cost
nos have to keep refilling
twins can be working 24/7
nos only used in bursts at the track
nos can cause moredamage if i screw up
correct me if i am wrong on any of thoes
and less people have twins than do nos

ok got it "Idaho CTD"
talk to him!
dozerboy 08-09-2005, 08:20 PM You can buy a lot of Drugs for the price of a twin setup. And its a lot of maintenance if you running enough boost to stretch the head studs. But don’t take my word for it I know nothing.

JMHO, but buying drugs is a lot like renting an appartment. The upfront costs are less, but long term utilization is more expensive than buying something permanent that is yours and can be used 24/7

:exactly:
Slick 08-10-2005, 07:14 AM How much does it cost (typically) to fill a nitrous bottle(average size)?
benz_020 08-10-2005, 08:13 AM what needs to be asked
not that it could be done
how much would it cost to have nitrous flowing in it 24/7
every time you drive it
every mile on you truck powered by it.
then it compares to twins
ratlover 08-10-2005, 10:53 AM N2O vrs a different spinny thing set up has no real yes or no, its what best suits you. I will say a few things in case maybe N2O is a better fit for you.
How many times are you at full boost utilizing the twins?
500rwhp gets me by just fine most of the time. Thats with a stock charger. Its great for jacking around on the street and it will eat just about anything out there. If I really want to go fast I turn on the juice.
N2O is not dangerous! If done correctly it will harm a motor no less or more than a proper set up supercharger, twin set up, ect. Actually a diesel motor is VERY forgiving to N2O. I mean it is VERY forgiving!!!
Right now and IMO for the forseable future N2O is faster.
N2O does suck to fill and is expensive. At 4 bucks or so a pound(I'd say the average speed shop rate) it can get pricey.
Twins or a big single or N2O ect is a decision that needs to fit your needs.
benz_020 08-10-2005, 11:53 AM i want twins.
i really dont know any thing but what ive heard about nos
thats one reason i am staying away from it
but,
a good amount of people have it.
how many people have twins here? how many with N?
how many with it on a lb7 ......umm 1 ,,,,,2 after me ):h
and their is more reasons, if their was no diff betwene the 2
i would still probally choose the turbo
its just me
i still havent pm'ed that guy havent had time
