Hah.

Well, flushed out the transmission today and found a less than wonderful surprise inside of it.

Green gear oil (I think it's gear oil... mostly odorless but from what I could smell it smelled like gear oil.)

So, swapped in some Dex III for now to make sure I flush out the gunk and then it's getting some TES-295. No need to waste the good stuff on that.

Wish I would've taken pictures, that was filthy. Just glad I didn't see those wonderful shiny flakes in it.

Anybody have any ideas on what to use to get the fluid in? I ended up butchering an old garden hose and it worked out almost perfect. One end screws (not properly, but it does) onto the bottle and the other end fits in the fill hole perfectly.

Filling the tranny up from the side has never been a clean job for me! Even with the truck on our 2-post lift. The easiest way to dump oil in is through the shifter if you have it apart.

I used a Suction Gun (http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=BK_7151245_0282390968) to put the oil in.

Why not use a bottle pump?

That what I have used and have always had good luck and "usually" I don't have any mess to clean up.

I have never had good luck with bottle pumps... At least the ones that the local napa store sells......

I dunno about those. I use one I bought from Amsoil for the gallon jugs. It works well and comes with different length suction tubes and a long filler hose.

I have never had good luck with the suction guns. I don't know why but they always break. :-\

I've seen the bottle pumps before, but can never find them. Anybody got a link by chance?
