: Alsn. Tranny Upgrade? who all offers...
QuikSSilver 01-19-2004, 12:38 AM I see transgo..... and what looks to be a TTS/transgo partnership(prolly just misread) kit and a suncoast.... or do they just do converters?? any others?
Reason I'm asking is I know I will be needing to beef up in the near future!! I'm leaning toward the trans-go( had good luck) but what about the converter?
lets hear the opinions...
Trans-go???(my Camaro SS has a kit from them... Love it, no complaints)
Suncoast??
others??
TIA
Aaron
White Duramax 01-19-2004, 12:42 AM Ats, PPE, and DTT(soon) all make trans upgrades for the Allison.
QuikSSilver 01-19-2004, 12:44 AM awesome..... I knew there was more out ther but Every search I do I seem to come up with the above listed
NorthCoastDmax 01-19-2004, 12:46 AM Is this Transgo kit on eBay the same as the TTS/Transgo kit or is the one from TTS different/better/worse?
Trans Go Kit - E-BAY (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34208&item=2454083 853) Edited by: GMC-2002-Dmax
PEANUTGRWR 01-19-2004, 12:55 AM IF ITS THE SAME AS THE ONE I BOUGHT ON EBAY ITS JUST THE KIT ALONE AND NO CLUTCHES------I THINK TTS AND SUNCOAST BOTH INCLUDE CLUTCHES IN THIER KITS. I SAVED 100 BY PIECING MY KIT TOGETHER FROM EBAY AND SUNCOAST
PEANUTGRWR 01-19-2004, 12:57 AM JUST BE SURE TO GET THE TCC VALVE WHEN YOU BUY
NorthCoastDmax 01-19-2004, 01:07 AM That's the torque converter valve Mike L. talked about keeping the line pressure at 235psi even when the converter is locked? And who sells these?
PEANUTGRWR 01-19-2004, 01:15 AM TRANSGO AS WELL I

White Duramax 01-19-2004, 09:32 PM I talked to DTT and they told me they are using a single disc converter and kits starting at 450rwhp holding capacity up to competition only trannys. They did not have prices ready when I talked to them.

Quadzilla 01-19-2004, 11:30 PM We have a fairly decent tranny we have been using. It holds a few horsepower. You might give me a call and get the skinny.

Suncoast?
Quadzilla 01-19-2004, 11:39 PM Yes, we use a Suncoast Converter. They also make fine transmissions and I do own one. However what I am talking about is a different ballgame.

Quad..... are with whom are you affiliated.. owner?? just curious what you are talking about
are you refering to Race tranny's, when refering to "a different ball game"
awesome info guys..... lets hear about your results... guys that are pending the upgrade....
Quadzilla 01-20-2004, 12:53 AM We are actually selling it for an undisclosed Allison house. For obvious reasons they felt it was best not to sell it. I helped with a lot of testing so I get to distribute it.
It is not a race only transmission. It is simply a transmission that will take anything you throw at it whether it is a 40' gooseneck or 700hp. It is also priced more competitively and has the same warranty as what is available. C1,c2,c3,c4 all have increased clutch capacity and they built their own "shift kit". We are using the Suncoast tranny as I personally have a lot of confidence in it. This company does not build converters.
After many months of tearing stuff up I am confident enough in them to sell them. They have done a very good job!
