: 2013 GMC HD Concept Pics
EricM 12-16-2010, 09:02 PM GMC has posted pics of an HD concept truck on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=266630&id=5353808700)
Strip away the flares and imagine it with normal bumpers and I'll bet it's pretty close to the 2103 truck. You can tell that the cab/doors look pretty much production ready but are definitely not the cab/doors from the current model.
jtaylor11 12-16-2010, 09:07 PM I would might buy one....it would have to grow on me alil though.
greif03lb7 12-16-2010, 09:07 PM Not to bad compared to that other thread on the new ones.
drgunlimited 12-16-2010, 09:16 PM I like... but they never look like the concept.... check out the tires and wheels, I wish... production will be pizza cutters...
ryanryan 12-16-2010, 09:25 PM Keep in mind that's a special "all-terrain" version. I'm sure the concept for the normal HD will look different.

Yeah, you have to picture it without some of the add ons. The cab and doors look pretty much stock though. You can tell they are from the new truck from the upswept beltline. I figure the production version will have toned down flared fenders similar to the current truck, a more normal front bumper and a more traditional inner pickup box.

Those would be doors from an Escalade ext/esv.
1tonchev 12-16-2010, 10:40 PM Tires are wayyyy to wide, makes the truck look disproportionate. But then I have never been a fan of oversize tires.
EricM 12-16-2010, 11:03 PM Those would be doors from an Escalade ext/esv.
They're close but not exactly... zoom in and you can see that the upsweep on the concept is more angular than on the Escalade door (which is more rounded).
GMC Denali HD 12-17-2010, 02:52 AM I like it, let's hope they make it and offer the LML Duramax.
C/K Man 12-17-2010, 05:10 AM Doors look a bit different, for some reason the windshield looks more upright. I think this is a concept of a 'Raptor Fighter', not a preview of 2013.
f250powerhouse 12-17-2010, 06:10 AM I like it alot. But I doubt GM will build it.
timoloco 12-17-2010, 09:11 AM I like the look of the truck and the package!!!
Kevin8520 12-17-2010, 10:59 AM Looks good but in the side shot it looks exactly like a Toyota.
Hacksaw 12-17-2010, 11:05 AM Looks good but in the side shot it looks exactly like a Toyota.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Dmax Fan 12-17-2010, 12:59 PM it does plus looks like a tonka truck
WI Huck 12-17-2010, 08:47 PM Looks like the Earnhardt Jr. truck I saw at SEMA a few years back. Build it, it would sell like crazy! Or, go to Vegas and buy one like that off the lot at a dealer with warranty! The dealers out there are way better at living with the bolt on stuff like that than they are around here.
Sierra13 12-17-2010, 10:18 PM OMFG!!!...I would buy that thing in a HEARTBEAT!!! GENERAL MOTORS IF YOU ARE LISTENING PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEASE IF I EVER ASKED ANYTHING OF YOU PLEASE MAKE THIS...AND WITH THE DURAMAX!!!!
Honestly guys I wouldn't hesitate in a second to order one of those...I just hope GM gives me enough notice so I can start eating my strict Ketchup and Cracker diet for the next 3 years to buy one hahah
hemikilr 12-18-2010, 02:33 PM I'd buy it, in that color also!!!!!!!!! Sweet Ride. I hope they build it.
spotted123 12-18-2010, 02:45 PM Front end looks kinda "Fordish"?
EricM 12-19-2010, 05:14 PM Doors look a bit different, for some reason the windshield looks more upright. I think this is a concept of a 'Raptor Fighter', not a preview of 2013.
GM does have a history of introducing concept trucks to preview redesigns. They had already announced that they would be introducing a truck a the Detroit show that would "signal the styling direction" of the 2013 truck, so unless they have another full size concept, this is probably it. Remember back in 1993 they showed a concept that turned out to be based on the next gen S10: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f19/looking-back-1993-chevrolet-highlander-concept-61161/
Honestly, I was hoping for something more radical... something to really redefine the segment. After a few days of looking at that concept, it's already starting to look boring to me.
I think it looks pretty good and that GMC should build it. Its not super bold or different but I've liked the looks of GMCs for the last decade and am glad they didn't screw the pooch with some kind of wild and different look.
I think the offroad platform is a great idea, especially for a diesel powered 3/4 ton truck. Look how many guys spend tons of cash on Cognito (and other) lifts, oversized tires, and aftermarket shocks. Wouldn't you like to get all that from the factory, designed to work together?
When Ford came out with the Raptor I thought it was a hell of an idea, just that they needed to do it to the F250 and F350 line. I would have bought a Raptor but they have limited tow and cargo capabilities.
GMC needs to get real about it though and lose the gimmicky stuff like the super short 5.8' bed, the exhaust ports in the bumper, the bed rail storage, etc. Or at least offer 2 versions, one with all the gimmicky stuff, and call it the "Sport" model. The second version could be the base version and have 6.5' bed, and more traditional styling, just with all the offroad suspension.
Any of the big 3 manufacturers who makes a 3/4 or 1 ton, off road capable (Raptor-ish), crew cab, 6.5' bed, diesel powered truck with the same payload and towing capabilities of the current crop of 2011 trucks, will absolutely sell the shit out of them.......
timoloco 12-19-2010, 06:25 PM GM did announce that they would be building concepts that were more realistic than off the wall ideas. So this concept is right on.
sven_502 12-19-2010, 06:45 PM I think the concept itself is awesome, nill the 5'8 bed and storage stuff, but as far as the styling goes...Fail. That GMC badge on the tailgate has got to be a foot and a half wide.
I doubt that Gm will put factory 35 inch tire and wide wheel on a production truck but if the body look like that on the 2013 model just buy it and put a lift kit and bigger wheel and you will have something close to this concept model. That will be cool.
TqThing 12-20-2010, 11:29 PM Concepts usually never happen but I hope that one does. Give me that with a gas 6.2L in Fire Red and I'll be trading my truck in ASAP
GM if you can read this, DO IT!

whtALLIMAX 02-16-2012, 02:41 PM Are you serious? Lol
Another question, no sense in making a new thread for it, just curious. Does the Denali HD have more insulation giving it quieter ride? Just always wondered the about Denali and if the hd was the same.

that is the one thing i like about my new truck is it is very quiet no wind noise or engine noise at 80mph also alot smoother ride than my 06. the new frame is much stiffer so their are no body noises... yet
whtALLIMAX 02-16-2012, 10:41 PM Are you just messing with me about the 2013s? I thought it was a for sure thing that the 13s were going to be different? I gotta know quick! Going to look at a 11 Denali tomorrow!!!!

Pretty sure the body style not changing til the 2014 model year, which may not come out til end of 2013??
On edit that will prolly be the halftons on top of that, so the HD's will be 2015. Who really knows though, they been keeping it pretty hush hush.
whtALLIMAX 02-16-2012, 10:53 PM What a bummer! 11 denali here I come I suppose
RINGNEKS 02-17-2012, 10:03 PM My local dealer told me late spring 2013 for the new HD. I don't know if I should believe it or not. I also hope that's not the truck I'm holding out for.
