My '05 is out of powertrain warranty now so I'm interested is some engine improvements. I really don't need a lot of extra power, what I'd like is more fuel efficiency. The Banks Economind tuner seems to be the only tuner really marketed toward that goal. I know there are a ton of tuners our there and everyone has their own opinion about them. I've always heard good things about the Banks company and they've been around forever. I don't want to do anything to the truck that will compromise reliability or longevity. I'm just looking for some better mileage. If a little more power comes with it, so be it.
I'd love to hear from anyone with experience with banks tuners, specifically the Economind.
This is a work truck. It sees about 150 miles a day. It has a tool box body and weighs a minimum of 10,000 pounds all the time. Fully loaded and towing, which is frequent, I might weigh in at about 25,000 pounds.
Thanks for all your help.

I have the ottomind (basically an economind with blue wrapping) I have it on an 06 lbz. I like it alot for daily driving & for towing. I got 2 mpg better with it. Good safe power. Enough power for some stop light fun, but still safe power. I believe you can tow in all the power levels also.. Check to make sure that last one is true on your 05. Check with Jeff Barker on here for one. He is the Banks Power vendor here. Factory direct so you will not have to worry about warranty. Plus, Jeffs prices are hard to beat. Have a good one.

I think you'll be very happy with the Economind. It is a plug and play proposition and provides very easy to use and trouble free tunes with drivetrain safety as its default. Your application is exactly what the Ottomind then Economind was developed toward.
