OK I tried to source a x cossover & down pipe from a local performance shop (Mopac) and with all the different lines they carry they had nothing. I was not all that interested in having something shipped to me if I could get it local. But it appears I may have to.
I've read lots of post here and don't recall seeing any brand names mentioned... I'll go back and try some searches.

Are there any brands I should stay clear of?
Thanks
Nick

I bought my x-over for $60.00 and a "true" 4" exhaust for under $300.00 from Warp Speed Performance (on ebay).

The only thing that I would do different is have the x-over welded together (2 piece design) after the install...otherwise good products and very good company to do business with.

I should also note that there are Supporting Vendors here that sell x-over pipes and 4" exhausts...:o: ...):h

Go back to Mopac and ask them to actually open their Flowmaster Catalog. It's in there as a downpipe and crossover in a kit.

Thanks FFI looked Flowmaster up on the net came up with a part# Gave it to them(Mopac) and WOW, surprise surprise. they suddenly had one. So I ordered it, from a different parts store.what is the stock size of the X-over? as the flow master is 2 1/4 with 3'down pipe. I think I'll go 3.5 the rest of the way out, minus cat and a flow thru muffler.

I purchased TWO Flowmaster kits - one for the Tahoe and one for the 'burb. They were about $103 each, sans shipping from Summit. Now, if I can just get them installed without burning myself, starting things on fire, or breaking bolts off in the manifolds....

Sincerely,

Rob :)

I bought a Flowmaster today at a JB Power store cost me 124$ plus tax for a 17220 Kit, while I was there I asked for the rest of the exhaust in 3.5 but they had nothing. I read on another site that the Dmax exhaust will fit and it is a 3.5 so I went to a local Muffler shop and he had a couple of Dmax systems laying around, i'm going to bring it to them once I have the X over and downpipe on
I should have no trouble (KNOCK ON WOOD) since I just had my exhaust off not that long ago....I too have been known to start fires, had a '79 rabbit once burned er to the ground.....

Flowmaster doesnt make a complete kit for the 6.5. They do however make universal tailpipe kits from 3" to 4" and the beauty of these trucks is it is vertually a straight shot from the downpipe to the tailpipe inlet so all you need is a chunk of pipe to go in between! It just doesn't get any better than this! My 10' chunk of 3.5" cost me $22 cad, tailpipe kit $77, and add the downpipe/crossover for $106, for a grand total of $205.00!:ro) I still can't beleive how many of these shops still open up the book and look for a complete kit and when they don't see one they tell the customer that they are SOL. Come on guy's, get a little creative!

Also look for Stroke cast offs in many shops trash bin, a 4" stainless pipe is what gets tossed when they go up to 5" pipes
