I found a powershot 2000 with an 8 gal manchester rv tank for $450. Was used for 1 1/2 yrs. Is this a good deal?

Once you install the tank how do you get it filled? Pull it out every time? Could I mount it inside my toolbox? I know stupid but I am a virgin here.

With this setup, how often do you guys change your oil?

Thanks for putting up with my ignorance!

Ben

Since it is an RV tank it will most likely have fittings on it so they can fill it up using automotive connections. Instead of filling it by weight they fill it until liquid comes out of the fill valve.

They would just need to use a hose then? I guess it would not work in my tool box then. I have seen some pictures of others with a box around them. Pictures? Do you guys have installation pictures too?

Is this a good deal on this set-up?

It can be filled in the bed in the tool box. Most places that sell propane have a long enough hose to reach in the bed. The tool box is one of the best places to mount it. Just add a couple of vent holes at the bottom of the tank in addition to the drain holes.
A remote fill is another option but mainly used if it is mounted under the vehicle between the frame rails, between transfer case and fuel tank.

It is a very good price on the unit with a tank. There really isn't a whole lot to go wrong with them, other than adjusting it properly for the Duramax which is very simple. Here is a link to PPE's install manual, they do it a little differently than the standard installation, but it has some good photos.

For our installation instructions, we use Hoot's photos!:cool2: but Mackin's are pretty good too:lol: http://community.webshots.com/album/76619038kkFTZC

How hard is it to mount the tank underneath my truck? PPE's site looked pretty simple.

hey ben -

i just noticed that you have a supertank for your diesel. maybe you need to get a huge propane tank so that you never have to fuel up again.
