That is just a reprint of the official press release from GM.com. It has been posted several times already.

Ya Know it was very, very hard to resist that GMS give-away and all the low interest rates and all the hype, but I held on to my '01 and was waiting, waiting for the new Dmax and the Allison 6-speed, now I am still waiting, waiting for one more change and then I will get a speeding ticket getting to my dealer to order a new truck. Just please tell me they are changing the body style for '06! Then of course the body style change has to be a good one and I will be ready to make a change.

My'01 is a great truck, just hit 54K perfect miles. Hate to part with it, but............

It would be interesting to know if this injector design is similar to anything else being used and if it has a better track record than the current design

From the report:
* Fuel delivered via higher-pressure pump, fuel rails, distribution lines and all-new, seven-hole fuel injectors

* Fuel injectors spray directly onto glow plugs, providing faster, better-quality starts and more complete cold-start combustion for reduced emissions

I saw what I assume to be an '06 Sunday coming back from the lake. It had all these black decals on it trying to hide the shape, looked like a zebra. It was towing a flat trailer with what looked like weights on it and the badges were covered up. It didn't look any different then an '05 as far far as I could tell.

Looked at a new '06 CC D/A K2500HD with the six speed Allison and the LLY last friday. The new LBZ won't be intrduced until this fall in the '06.75. The body style hasn't changed from that in '05 (don't know about the 1/2 tons), but the new mirrors are awesome. They are electric in and out and swivel. They are now vertical so I can see around my camper. They are heated and have the turn signals in them too. I hate to admit it but they look much like the F-250/350 Furd series mirrors. I've ordered a set for my '02 today........................SWH..

What, can it be true? A FACTORY exhuast brake? ):h
That's what I read and I just had LASIK so I know my eyes are good. The turbo can be used as an exhuast brake and is activated via ECM and also by the driver.
Bye bye Ford Tow Command....... if GM would just add a factory brake controller, they would have just built the most complete, off the line tow vehicle in production. :ro)

Ford..... (International) uses the same turbo in the 6.0 so no trump there.

Tow Command is an integrated trailer brake controller that can possibly take on turbo braking control also.

I hate to admit it but they look much like the F-250/350 Furd series mirrors. I've ordered a set for my '02 today........................SWH..

Looks like GM finally swallowed it's pride and admitted Ford had a better idea... with tow mirrors that is.

Even Dodge has much better mirrors than GM

You mean they retrofit to our trucks?!?!?!?!!! Does anyone know what the plug looks like for them, is it the same as 03-05 or 01-02?

I'd have to see one in person before making judgement. But they seem a lot better than the stockers I have.

Have a good one!!

What you likely saw was a powertrain mule where engineers were evaluating the engine and trans under harsh conditions.

Its a known fact that the new GMT900 platform is not going to launch until 07 model year. Its all over the web. SUV's are coming out first followed by 1/2 ton trucks. The re-designed 3/4 ton trucks will be last off the production line and probably wont even be out until late 07 or possibly even 08.

Series80,

That was NOT an 06. That was a 2005. You saw a Chevy but if you hung around you would also have seen a Ford and Dodge come by with the same 'camoflauge'. They were all 2005's. How do I know? It is market research. I was driving them in Southern California last weekend. It is market research. Morpace.
