How hard is the B&W turnover hitch to install? It is going into a 2006 GMC 2500. They say it is bolt in with no drilling except for the 4" hole in the bed.

I've done 4 of them, always takes me about 2 hours with a buddy helping.

Worst part is getting the heat shield cut out of the way.

yes the heat shield is the worst. i have put 3 of them in. i even took 1 out (never do that again) and re installed it. i had one in my 05 longbed and put it in my 07 classic shortbed and i was worried that it would be tighter to fit up under but it was actually pretty nice. i put the one in by myself with like 5 mins of my wife helping till i got 2 bolts in to hold it up. took me about 2 1/2 -3 hrs. there is 1 bolt that is hard to get to its the one that goes above the fuel tank (hope you have small hands). where are you loctaed?

I agree, it is a pretty easy install. Between 2 and 4 hours depending on your tools and how handy you are at working on your back, but worth it though. You used to be able to download the directions for each app. from their website. that will give you an exact idea of what to expect. Great hitch too.

I looked at the directions online and it does not seem to bad. I used to install 5th wheel hitches at a RV center way back in high school (15 yrs ago), so I am familiar with installing them.

I am located in College Station, TX. If anyone wants to help, let me know....I will supply the beer (Lone Star)!

What is the going prices for these hitches?

Check out Valley Vet prices. They are a farm and vet supply Co out of Kansas, and when I bought mine they were the cheapest. I paid around 350.00 although I am sure they've gone up since then. If I were available to take a little cruise I would take you up on the beer, and some Rudy's BBQ. he he.

not a bad install at all, measure twice or three times mark it all out and cut once. should go in no problems, i think when i did mine it took about 2 hours and the best part is you save $$$$

as it says in the instructions using a piece of plywood to drill the hole helps. i didnt use any in the first 3 but the last one i did and loved it, the drill doesn't jump around and reem your hole bigger

Like already said the heat shield sucks but overall it isn't to bad. I have installed them by myself but a helper does make it easier. Spend the money and buy a fresh hole saw to make a nice cut. I do like to use red loctite on all the fasteners while I am there.

The prices have been going up over the years but I have always bought them from Radauto on Ebay. Great prices and SUPER fast shipping. The last one I ordered a wed afternoon and it was at my door on Thursday.

I am all about saving some coin doing it myself. Good call on the loctite. Once I install the hitch, it will be sold with the truck.

I was told 485 installed for a b&w I think letting sombody else do it for 85 bucks is worth it.

like i said i tore mine out of my 05 to put in my 07 and prolly never do that again. the reason i did mine was because i never really used it real hard

A small air grinder with a cut-off wheel makes removing the necessary part of the heat shield a piece of cake. If you have trouble sliding the metal bars between the frame and the bed, you can loosen the 4 bed mount bolts on the drivers side and jack the bed a tiny bit. My step-son and I did mine in about 3 hrs. on the floor with only a 3.5 ton floor jack and stands. Measure twice, cut once.

Installing the hitches are not bad at all. I have done several B&W hitches on different trucks and all went fairly easy. I stock the hitches and can get you a great deal on one if interested. Just let me know if I can help.
