So I just bought and downloaded the Hypertech tune into my truck last night. I put it on the 90HP tune and went for a cruise.
One word = Awesome:eek: I couldn't believe how much this woke up my truck.

I know guys will say "wait until you Juice it", but I want to stay away from upgrading my tranny thank u :D

One concern though. I have 265/75/16's and I know that they measure out to 31.65", but I accidently programmed for 31". No big deal.... I think. I'll change it tonight. But my question is last night I got into the skinny petal twice, and as my RPM's approached 3k, I felt the truck kind of surge or jerk a little. What could this be? has anyone with the Hypertech noticed this? Is it just the tranny learning or something?

I noticed it for about the first couple thousand of miles that I had it on and then it just went away. Be patient and a little tender for a bit. It was almost kind of like breaking it in. Just my thoughts.

Enjoy it!

Good to know that someone else noticed it. Hopefully it goes away.

Anyone else have anything to add?

only thing i can add is 90 is still too much for your tranny consistently.

Edge Juice is a lot safer on the trans then a downloadable tuner. The edge will protect the trans to some degree where the hypertech will not.

The only "training" your trans will do or see is at the shifts, there isnt any training going on then......unless you noticed the converter lock? You may have felt that depending on gear ect.

Could also be a quirk in the programing.

Or you could be nuts :p:

I remember hearing somewere that the power of the hypertech isnt anything to worry about. Juice is a pretty heavy on torque and pertty powerfull box.

I seem to recall hearing something to that effect as well ratlover. Still if both the edge and hypertech make equal hp and equal hp the edge will be safer on the trans.

Update: Last night I loaded the factory program in, then reloaded the tune and programmed for the tire size as 31.5"..... all is well now, no shudder. Man this thing is fun to drive now. :D

The LB7 Hypertech on level 3 gains about 160tq, which puts it right where the 5th gear holding capacity is, 680tq. Modules such as the Edge Juice and Banks Six-Gun have noticable higher torque gains. Just for comparison, the Six-Gun, when producing 90hp, is at +240tq. This is why Hypertech can say you can tow with their programmer, even on it's highest level.
