: Ordering an 06 SLE1 SLE2...
SnowBandit 08-08-2005, 01:32 AM Seems like my dealer has no clue what SLE1, SLE2(what comes standard in each package) and such are.Went to another dealer were the sales woman tried to tell my parents that she knew someone that was getting 30+MPG on a stock duramax.. Took all my strength not to laugh in her face and tell her she shouldn't be selling trucks. Can anyone help me out here. I am looking to order my truck soon( I hope Friday) and get the LLY I don't need the added power of the LBZ and don't like being the first one to try out something new.:badidea: I have had enough problems with my current ride 02 2500HD CC LB that I don't want another troubled truck.
_nar_ 08-08-2005, 01:54 AM Where are you would be helpfull info. I have a hard time talking to dumbass salespeople that know nothing about what they sell too. I just printed out the thing from chevy's site where you can build your truck... I didn't even order it, but a truck showed up a while later that was just what I wanted...
SnowBandit 08-08-2005, 08:46 AM I live in Southern Maine.
haulin-rv 08-08-2005, 09:45 PM Go to kbb.com spec out your truck. It lists what all the option packages contain.
aziator 08-09-2005, 12:53 AM go to eogld.ecomm.gm.com and download the entire book of 06 specs. It shows what comes with what package. Take it in to your dealer and order the truck exactly the way you want it.
Reineke 08-09-2005, 02:49 AM www.gmbuypower.com is where I went to spec out my truck. Printed off the final invoice, took it into the dealer and I got it ordered that way. If you are ordering it, who cares if they know anything about the packaging. It helps though to find a salesman that cares about what YOU want. Makes the process seamless.

Thanks that is exactly what I wanted. Could careless about the salesman...
SnowBandit 08-12-2005, 08:12 PM Well ordered my 06 2500HD... Looks like GM has not given them crap for info.. Whats up with that? Ordering was really easy seeing I had the info you guys gave me... Now got to wait the 8-12 weeks.. :(
84jeepjohn 08-12-2005, 11:02 PM well I just tried to "build" one on the GM site and it was messed up. I couldn't build one with the D-max :(
TheBac 08-12-2005, 11:29 PM Just for the heck of it, I built a GMC 2500HD 4x4 CC SB SLE2 with all the options that allows. GMS was $40,240.
SilveradoHD 08-13-2005, 02:47 AM For '06 info gmbuypower.com still forces you into all the 2005 models.
If you are looking for up-to-date 2006 model info, go to:
http://www.gmfleet.com
Select Vehicle Showroom at the top, select your brand (GMC or Chevy) from the drop down menu, click on the model (2500HD). From here, two links are really useful.
"View Online Order Guide" is the official guide to the 2006 stats/specs/order codes.
and the "Dealer Inventory" takes you to a completely 2006 version of the gmbuypower.com website. You can actually search dealer lots for 2006 models, rather than 2005 models like on the normal gmbuypower.com.
For 2005 2500HD, price is GMS (employee price) minus $2500. So that's about $38,020 for a $47500 LT truck.
For 2006 2500HD, price is "Whatever you negotiate" minus $2000.
Both cash rebates are valid on Duramax and both expire 9/6/05.
PFlorenzano 08-13-2005, 09:06 AM Hi Silverado,
This is good information that you posted. I noticed that the color options are all solid colors. I like the two tone midnight blue/silver birch. I'm wondeirng if this color will be available in 2006 for GMC
Thank you,
Pete..:)
TheBac 08-13-2005, 09:13 AM SilveradoHD,
BuyPower.com has both 2005 and 2006 info. You just have to select the year before you build your vehicle

Not unless they do something new. They have never offered a two tone 2500HD or 3500.
Kennedy 08-17-2005, 03:10 PM The way I understand it, the early 06 LLY is basically the LBZ w/o all of the HP tuning applied so technicaly you are trying the first release of the LBZ. It is said to be near the half way point between the LLY and LBZ claims in HP...
