: TRANSGO INSTALLED :)
PEANUTGRWR 01-18-2004, 07:58 PM JUST FINISHED UP WITH THE RE-LEARN ON MY PICKUP AFTER INSTALLING THE TRANSGO KIT AND SUNCOAST TRIPLE LOCK. IT SHIFTS CRISP AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING BETTER BY THE MINUTE. I INSTALLED THE TORQUE CONVERTER VALVE AS WELL THAT ISNT PART OF THE KIT. FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHERS THIS IS A "MUST" WHEN INSTALLING THE KIT. SAME GOES FOR THE C3 CLUTCHES. MY C1 AND C2 LOOKED GREAT HARDLY ANY WEAR AT ALL BUT THE C3'S WERE SHOWING QUITE A BIT MORE WEAR ON CLUTCHES AND STEAL RINGS. I TOOK DIPPER AND MIKE L'S ADVICE AND REPLACED THEM AS WELL---THANKS GUYS--- AFTER I DONE THE RE-LEARN PROCESS I INSTALLED THE POWER PUP ON THE 95HP SETTING ALONG WITH THE HOT OF----------WOW WILL IT HAUL ASS NOW. I HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A TRANSMISSION BEFORE THIS PROJECT. JUST BECAREFUL CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK AS YOU ARE RE-ASSEMBLING AND IF YOU HAVE TO -----DO AS I DID AND CALL MIKE L WHEN IN DOUBT.

I WAS A LITTLE UNDER THE WEATHER SO ON FRIDAY I TOOK IT OUT, SATURDAY I INSTALLED THE KIT AND ON SUNDAY I PUT THE TRANNY BACK IN. WORKING STEADY AND NON-STOP I THINK IT CAN BE DONE IN TWO 12 HR DAYS OR LESS MAYBE MAYBE NOTEdited by: PEANUTGRWR

What is this valve for? Where is it located? How is it installed? Any info would be greatly appreciated
PEANUTGRWR 01-18-2004, 11:45 PM MIKE L CAN TELL YOU MORE ABOUT WHAT IT HELPS AND ALL. ITS LOCATED IN THE FRONT PUMP HOUSING/BELL HOUSING ON THE FRONT OF THE ALLY. ONLY WAY TO ACCESS IT IS TAKE THE TRANNY OUT. ITS NOT IN THE BOTTOM / VALVE BODY. ONCE YOU GET TO IT ITS REALLY EASY TO INSTALL NO BIGGIE AT ALL.
MIKE WHEN I INSTALLED THE VALVE THERE WERE TWO DIFFERENT SPRINGS IN THERE ONE WAS A 170 PSI SPRING AND THE OTHER WAS A 190 PSI SPRING. I COULDNT GET AHOLD OF YOU AT THE TIME WHEN I WAS INSTALLING IT--------SO ME BEING ME AND ALWAYS THINKING MORE IS BETTER I OPTED TO PUT THE 190PSI SPRING IN ----A LITTLE LATE TO ASK NOW BUT "WAS THIS THE PROPER ONE TO INSTALL?????"
Mike L. 01-18-2004, 11:48 PM Torque converter regulator valve. When the converter clutch applys, TCM drops line pressure(235psi with shift kit) to about 50psi. The valve keeps pressure up to line pressure(235psi). Now you guys should not worry about this because the rest of the trans is not doing much after it goes into lock-up. This valve can cause premature pump failure because the pump is making uneccesary pressure when not needed.I believe this valve will show its ugly head in a dyno run(loss of hp). Will i use this valve in my truck? Yes, but remember i will be running the TTS extreme. This valve is for race and extreme high performance.
