I bought my first diesel earlier this year and have started upgrading it. I have the banks cold air intake, PPE Hot race, and Flo Pro DPF delete as of now. What else should I do to prevent any future damage to my engine/tranny while running the programmer. Also, for any of those running the PPE, what settings do you run the most and what settings can I run safely before I have to drop the tranny. I've heard a lot of horror stories from people after they have added programmers and I realize alot of it is how you drive your truck but any suggestions on this topic would be appreciated.

EGR blocker plate or Delete pipe to keep the crap from recirculating back into engine, PCV re-route to keep oil/vapors from going back into turbo/engine. 160hp (PPE rates at flywheel, not rwhp) tune at most with a stock tranny, which is an additional 100-110rwhp. But still there, you can limp a stock allison, just drive easier in the 4-5, 5-6 upshifts and downshifts, that's a weak link in the allison with more power. That's about the basic stuff combined with what you already have. Pretty common stuff to do. Chris

I have the delete pipe installed so do I still need to do the EGR blocker plate and if so why? I'm still learning about diesels. OUr farm trucks were a lot more simple when I was growing up.

With the increase of HP one can create more soot that goes through the EGR and really makes a nasty mess inside. If you start to have EGR issue codes usually a cleaning fixes that. But it can kill an EGR motor too.
