I recently bought car trailer that had brakes installed but they were long gone, actually none of them were even hooked to power. I want to get new brakes for it but I cant seem to find what brand axles are under my trailer. The axles are 6 lug with 5 mounting bolts on the inside and I believe they are 2 x 12". My question is, can I just get a set of dexter units or do I need to get whatever brand that the axles actually are.
Hope this all make sense to someone, Thanx Cardboard

Everything, dimensionally, will be in this catalog (it doesn't hurt that they're nice people, and probably the best price around).

And this page http://www.redneck-trailer.com/2009/C/C3-C8.pdf shows them all.
And this one is all 12x2"s http://www.redneck-trailer.com/2009/C/C11-C13.pdf

You, sir, are amazing. You have an answer to everybody's questions, no matter what they are about. Maybe you have too much free time....You've already helped me a couple of times.
Thanx much for being such a big help.

Sometimes I'm not appreciated here with knowledge, too....Like these two.

And this one really bumped me hard, but I think I misread their "input".

Oh well....I still appreciate the compliment.
Back to the OP, if you open the redneck catalog to axles parts (in the axle section), they list new backing plate brackets to weld on, if nothing matches what you've got.
And, yes, I've got too much free time (just don't tell my wife).
