i had a 2004 lb7 with exhaust and hypertech programmer and was very happy.truck ran great tell some a--hole stole it. just got a 2005 lly and what a terd... it needs a chip, new program or something. what are you guys using?i was looking at the edge juice with the controller. i like the safty stuff on it and the gauges but if i take it in for service the hypertech is alot easier to remove so they wont void my warrenty than removing all the edge components. what do you think??????? thanks

I have been concidering that very same question for several months now and my ultimate decision is to go with the Edge module. In the end however, it has to be your choice as to what you want to get.
On a side note, if you get the edge module, and you have to go in for warrantee work, I understand that the only componet which cannot be removed is the EGT sensor. It would seem to me that one could get a simple EGT guage to mount in the truck to make it look as if that is the only thing done to the truck, which should (note I stated should) not be concidered a modification for warrantee purposes. (note: I do recall a member who stated in one post that thier dealer was arguing that a EGT guage was a reason to deny the needed warrantee work, but I think that was just a Censored dealer.)
I am sure others will chime in with their own opinions on this topic soon, choose wisely grasshopper!! ;)

I have been very happy with my Predator. I will also remove the top speed limiter, which neither the edge or the hypertech will do.

I prefer the Edge or Diablo based on needs ie: tire size speed limit changes etc.
I have a pretty good selection of dyno plots ion my web site under Gallery/Superflow. I did not get the Diablo up yet and do still plan to retest the Hypertech to see if it repeats it's dismal performance...

Kennedy,
Quick question on your dyno plots. I thought the LLY had peak torque at ~1600 RPM, but all of your plots show it peaking at ~2250 RPM. Is this correct, or am I just confused on the plots?
Thanks,

I have been looking at all these dyno runs, and no one is asking, " what happens at 1/2-3/4 throttle?". I use the truck strictly for towing and some minimal running around. When I want to spank a ricer, I have my own version, mildly gassed ZX12. I am looking for good power that wont push the reliability of the truck.
I am currently content with the present fuel mileage, temps, and performance, but I have always been one to ask what if.
Do you see the gains at partial throttle settings from these programmers, or is it only effective at WOT?
Thanks.
