Sometimes your garage door opener has too many opener codes and you need to clear those out and reprogram all your remotes to the opener.

I had a problem as it was not as easy as my wifes Lexus. The lexus just needed a few buttons pushed and it was done. With the LML, I had to look at the button panel on the opener unit and write down the button position of every button, then follow program procedure in the owners manual. Pain in the ass but it works.

My garage doors/gate have the old school dip switches. Followed the
owners manual to the "T" and programming worked first time.

It sure is nice to not have a bunch of garage door opener controllers taking
up space in the center console.

In the owners manual it tells you haw to do it for the old school codes

Mine is the newer rolling code style, and according to the instructions of the opener, I can program an unlimited number of remotes. I have tried numerous times and followed the instructions to a "T", however,l I can't get it to program up. :(

Programmed mine today on the first try after reading this thread. Not sure whats going on. Hold the 2 outer buttons in vehicle then go push the learn button on your actual overhead unit... Then go to your truck and hold the button you want to program until the garage closes. Done... Was for me atleast... Good Luck

Yeap. It's that easy. Was getting ready to do mine & just checking recent posts & comments. Follwed the above - didn't work the first time, but worked the second time. Cool thing to do with your child too.;)

What's with pushing the two outer buttons? I programmed mine by simply pushing the learn button on my garage opener, and then pushing the button in my truck I wanted to use.

I have rolling codes and it took 2 shots to get it to work. Maybe I'm too slow running between the opener and the truck.:D

Some openers wont work,

You have to get a module for 35.00 from the company who makes the homelink transmitter...the phone number is in your owners manual...
