I finally had a chance to take some pictures with the Suncoast Creations ram air hood. This is a little different than the hood that they sell through. It usually comes with heat extractors on each side of the scoop. I had those cut out, holes filled in and then painted.
The truck rolls on 22x9.5" Weld Evo Velocity 8 wheels wrapped with 305/45/22 Nitto 404 tires. Other appearence mods include - painted grill shell, flares and mirrors, stainless steel grill. 6000k HID lights display the road at night.
A Volant induction helps the Duramax breath while MBRP tips hang behind each of the rear tires. They are attached to the stainless steel catback. Programming is provided by the Edge with Attitude that is stacked with a Predator programer. Each of them is set to "kill". Rolling into the throttle produces billowing clouds of smoke -

A Suncoast transmission and converter send all of this power to the rear tires!
There is a camera at the back of the truck makes it very easy for one person to hook up to a trailer. It can be done on the first shot instead of getting in and out many times (that is a real pain) -

The trailer also has a camera to see what is going on back there on the road plus it provides a good view while backing up -

This truck is set up for road trips. Nothing makes a trip go by faster than watching a movie. It has 2 DVD players, 3 screens, X-Box and satellite radio. A navigation system helps when I need to know where to go -

A few other mods will be coming soon. I'd like to see about 500hp at the rear wheels before this is done.

Sweet!!

Did you have to make any modifications for the wheels/tires to fit?

How is the ride with this combination of wheels/tires? Stiff? Smooth?

Thanks!

Great looking truck! Really like the hood. Also like the chrome. Just enough!

Thanks guys! Replacing the chrome bumpers would something body color would also look good. I should just paint the back one black because that is the color that it ends up anyway :)

I had to trim the front bumper a little to get enough room up there. The tires rubbed a little when I cranked the wheel. The ride is excellent! That would start going downhill with anything bigger.

At least you're pulling a trailer with all that bling.

That truck looks great.
When painting your mirrors did you have to take them apart or just paint them in the normal position they would be when on the truck?

Hey Tbyrne, ive got an 05 sierra black dmax and im thinking about getting 20's with a thick sidewall or 22's with a lil lower profile but i can't make up my mind and i want to know if i can do this without having to cut the front bumper and i want to know how they handle and ride and i was wondering how much ur rims and rubber cost u, and i do a lil towing and hauling here and there and i dont know wat performance adder i should get, i want something that i can take off when i need to service my truck and something that i can use only when i need it and another question how much did u spend on top of ur truck on goodies, thanks in advance. and i really luv ur truck!

That's one badd ass truck. Did you have any suspension work done or does those 22' just fit?

That kenwood system is bad@##, I have 05 with 20x9 eagles with 325 Nittos, only required a little trimming and of course cranked up bars.:D

Tbyrne, that camera is tits, what did you use as a backup camera, and was it just a straight plug into the kenwood monitor?

Sorry for the late reply! It's coming to the end of my house being built so I've been tied up with that lately.

The mirrors were taped real good when painted. The only time I can see a little black is when they are tucked in tight.

I ran 20s on a 1/2 ton Suburban a few years ago. Went to 22s on a 3/4 version of that truck and 22s on the Sierra. The larger size looks a little better. I had to trim the lower portion of the front bumper to keep them from rubbing (rest of the suspension is stock). I would only be able to drive straight without doing this :) Haven't tallied everything up to get an exact total but I'd say that there are about $20,000. in upgrades done to this truck. Parts add up fast... either because I want them or need them.

I'm planning on putting one of Wilwood's BIG brake upgrades on here soon. It will have red powdercoated calipers and 16" rotors so the smallest winter wheels that I'll be able to use are 20s. I don't want the 22s to get damaged by the winter salt that is used.

I'm using Vizualogic back-up cameras (http://www.vizualogic.com/hindsight/hindsight_key_features.html). I believe they just plugged into the Kenwood. The shop that took care of the rest of the video upgrades also handled took care of these.
