Does anyone make a pipe and elbow to replace the stock intake tube going from airbox to throttle body? 2002 8.1. The stock intake tube has that big goofy looking piece of plastic that drops down by radiator, that has to hinder airflow to the throttle body. I would like to keep my stock airbox if possible.

This is what i did, but eventually went to a cone filter. Got a 90* elbow from siliconeintakes.com. I think it was 4'' on one side and 3.5'' on the other...but not positive. then a straight coupler for the MAF and a 3.5 piece of pipe, ran right to the airbox. Drill 7-10 holes in the bottom of the airbox. But now I just have elbow, maf, HUGE cone filter. Seems to work much better this way. Lots of compannies make CAI's for these trucks, but they are a little pricey at times

The only one i've seen that comes with a new tube is the k&n but I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole

Why bother, it won't help much. The factory intake flows more than enough air to support that motor with the stock intake and throttlebody...

I know the Duramax intakes are superior, but I could tell a big difference on my 8.1l. It is actually the ONLY vehicle I have put one on and noticed any change at all!

im with ya Ender, all i did was "swiss cheese" the heck out of the stock box(headlight and fender side), got a dry filter, and replace the tube (any box auto part store)....this made a drastic improvement in throttle response.
