I went and looked at an 05' duramax (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=400274#)/zf6 at a dealership last week. Truck ran like a champ, great power, tranny felt stout, no problems, after about 15-20 mins of driving I stopped and it started to having a real rough vibration when it was idling, plus it was only idling at 400. The vibration shook the whole truck, and the vibration stopped once I gave it just a little bit of throttle. Any ideas???:confused:

I would put money on the Flywheel being bad. It is probably barely held together. Mine eventually separated completely and left my wife stranded.

Thank you, the dealership I am trying to buy it from put it in the shop this week so hopefully they get the issue figured out and then I will know for sure what the problem was.

Mine had the something. The vibration would be slight to shaking the he!! out of the truck one time. With a slight rise in RPM's it would smooth out, around 1000rpms. I replaced the clutch and DMF and the vibration was totally gone. Now with it fixed, I'm wondering how much wear the vibration put on the rear bearing, seal, and input shaft.

I let mine go for about a month or so and after the fix several months later i noticed a little bit of oil from my rear end. The bearing looked fine but so i just replaced the seal. It slowed the leak quite a bit but i can't stop it completly. Now it leaks a about half a court of fluid every month or so. Just enough to piss me off!
