4x4man 09-02-2003, 10:08 PM Just joined. Heard about the site through the grape vine.
Hopefully I will participate more on this site then on dieselpage. Seem to do more lurking than posting.
Anyway, great site!!
Bob
Diesel Power 09-02-2003, 11:06 PM Please do post! no one here has any reason not to. you won't get flamed because of politics.. this isn't the Third Reich after all!
stretch 09-03-2003, 07:09 AM What's up everybody !!! Nice site set up here. I too have an issue about charging members for forum useage when you take into consideration that they have paying advertisers and without the members, they have nothing to offer. I'm not even going to get into the rampant censorship and selective banning of members who don't see things "their" way. With Mackin as a moderator here, well let's just say I doubt much will be censored.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
JEBar 09-03-2003, 07:17 AM http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif Hello Mack/Diesel Power/ and Co. .... looking forward to using this forum ... Jim

cdhd2001 09-03-2003, 04:54 PM The censorship at the other site was infuriating!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif
conradv 09-03-2003, 05:11 PM Hey stretch - nice of you to bring your avatar with you!
MtnSpirit 09-03-2003, 06:21 PM Nice looking site!!
bowtiebob 09-03-2003, 07:27 PM Hi All. I read TDP for over a year, but since I don't have a Dmax yet I never joined. Here lately it seemed to be lacking compared how it used to be. This will be cool to be an early member over here, especially if all you DP vets (mackin, hoot....) are swinging by here.
One question? I saw a post over at TDP that they were switching to a new server. Is that going to convince any of you guys to go back???
I do believe that once folks get a taste of freedom of speech, and free membership, plus, instant access and posting, the flow will be ONE WAY coming and staying at the Diesel Place!
I got to know Diesel Power a little when I went up and he installed my Nicktane bracket and CAT filter. Nick is a true Duramax ebthusiast. 1st class from a-to-z.
His mission is supporting Duramx diesel enthisiast - not gouging every last cent that he can from Duramax enthusiasts and vendors.
conradv 09-03-2003, 09:21 PM Hey there bowtiebob - I went to the U of I - partied a bit over there. WSU was a bit more extreme when it came to parties.
Mr X - is the Nicktane bracket setup different on a CC Long Box than your Short Box?
Diesel Power 09-04-2003, 04:08 AM conradv,
Yes the longbed bracket is 2" longer.... but i'll have plenty of both flavors tomorrow..
and stretch - i thought that avatar was animated? what gives? you shortchanging us???http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif
bowtiebob 09-04-2003, 04:45 AM conradv,
Yeah, WSU has been fun so far, and I have only had one week of class. I'm sure U of I has its fair share too, but WSU is a little bigger... I heard that U of I is having some pretty severe financial problems these days and so attendence is way down....
stretch 09-04-2003, 06:37 AM and stretch - i thought that avatar was animated? what gives? you shortchanging us???http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif
It is, perhaps a temp glitch in the server ???
Diesel Power 09-04-2003, 07:10 AM I was reading it from a remote computer... now that i'm home i can see it just fine
thanks

PEANUTGRWR 09-04-2003, 10:57 AM SO THIS MEANS WE DONT HAVE TO DO ALL THE BRAGGING ON THE VENDORS LIKE SOME DO, IN ORDER TO STAY IN GOOD GRACE WITH THE MODS.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
Mackin 09-04-2003, 11:26 AM SO THIS MEANS WE DONT HAVE TO DO ALL THE BRAGGING ON THE VENDORS LIKE SOME DO, IN ORDER TO STAY IN GOOD GRACE WITH THE MODS.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
Well that's one way to put it .......
Mac http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
PEANUT GRWR,
Very shrewd observation. The membership explosion at this site is a good example of the effect of freedom on folks.
It's nice to see.
GMC-2002-Dmax 09-04-2003, 10:27 PM Just an observation.............
Many people are probably asking themselves why this sight was started.........http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley25.gif
Nick can best answer it so I will reserve my comments.
I will go as far as to say that the unrestricted free flow of facts and opinions will be found here without
Political Pressure.
If you like what you see stay tuned because more is coming.........http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

ctgmcduramax 09-04-2003, 10:52 PM A site like this was discussed at last years Northeast Diesel Gettogether, I didn't have the resourses or knowledge to do it, but I'm sure glad Nick has.
I've not been to that "other site" since my e mails earlier this summer, apparently (from reading between the lines) things got worse.
I've just changed the flyers for the gettogether to include a promo for this site, and Mikes updating the event website to include a link.
Nice to be "welcome".

bybycop 09-05-2003, 05:32 PM Nice rig Alan! How much hacking did you have to do on your bumper or fender wells? I was barely able to get 33 x 13. Doesnt it feel and look like a 4 by now? Looks good!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif
MCourson 09-05-2003, 06:48 PM Hows it going guys? Just found this place and all looks good. I hope to hang around a little.
ctgmcduramax 09-06-2003, 12:14 AM Hey DMAX2DAMAX , I've got an 85 6.2 Sierra Classic Shortbed !Heard only 1,000 sb diesel were built in 85.
