I did a search for where to tap for the Boost gauge, not much info there or any good places that I can find by looking. Cast tube on the LBZ was perfect for that, but with the LML plastic tube not real confident that even a bung with epoxy would be a wise thing to do. What have you been doing for a tap. Also for the EGT, is there a good place as before near the fuel filter; I haven't taken the fender liner out yet to see.

Surely some people have installed boost and EGT gauges on the LML's. I'm now thinking a bung with flange to attach to the plastic intake tube with pop rivets and epoxy might be the solution? EGT, the same as on earlier models, or do I just need to pull the liner and look for myself before install. Intake tube, mine seems to be getting tighter as more miles are added; what's up with that; now seems pretty solid?

I installed my EGT probe in the same place as earlier years. I just had the truck idling while I drilled and tapped it to blow any filings out. The exhaust fumes are absolutely miserable on the eyes while doing so, but it worked. Next time I'm going to go back to the shop vac method.
The Boost port was more of a pain in the ass, I installed it in the aluminum portion just to the driver's side of the black plastic air intake box that says Duramax 6.6 on it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to remove the piece from the engine because of the new screwy dang hose clamp. I just had a buddy hold the nozzle of my shop vac right next to the drill bit and the tap as I was doing it, then held the nozzle over the hole for a bit after I was done. Filings if any that didn't get sucked out would be so small I seriously doubt they would cause any problems. I had a couple of mechanics tell me they do it the exact same way and never had a problem.

So the aluminum is thick enough to get enough thread tapped into?

Yep, I'd say it was 1/4" thick or so. The fitting definitely has more bite than just a couple turns.

I did put them on the pillar. Reused the mount from my '08. The color is the closest they could find, but it certainly isn't a perfect match. Doesn't stand out but you can tell when you look at it.
