Occasionally my 05 Dura will smoke (white)and idle rough while in drive and stopped. put it in park or neutral and it stops. Only does it once and awhile Dealer recommended standyne which I did, now it doesnt dso it as often. Also if I am passing and passing gear kicks it black smoke. Didnt do that when it was new. Anyone has any ideas??

Not to sound like a smart ass. It's a diesel. They smoke. Mine will smoke some when I get on it also. Especially if I havent done it in a while. I took my truck in for the back seat recall yesterday. I noticed that when the tech started it up to pull it into the repair bay, it smoked juat a little. If it isn't using oil then just drive it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Look at the inside of your tailpipe. It's black.

I was thinking the white smoke was a bad injector?? Might want to ask dealer again.

correct.. black smoke is normal during acceleration and what not, but white smoke at idle may not be a good thing and may be a sign of injector issues. As mentioned, you might want to take it in and let them check the balance rates to make sure.

Thanks I think I will take it back to the dealer, I am not concern with the black smoke, or a little white smoke when its first warming up, but today while stopped in road construction it was billowing white for a while, enough to get the flagman to move.

Billowing white is BAD, I would definetly look at injectors.

I Just Recently Put A Edge W/ Attitude In My 05 (7500miles). Ever Since Then If My Truck Temp Is Below 175 Deg. I Blow White Smoke. If The Temp Is Above 175 It Blows Black Smoke. Is That An Injector Issue Also Or Is That My Edge? If I Turn Off My Edge Just Black Smoke.

Took it back to the dealer, Service guy said it may be an injector, After a while said my software was old and needed an update, runs great now. So far. lost about .5 mpg though, but it hummms. Does this mean I have an 06):h :confused:
