: Do Not Use Tnt Spray On Bed Liners
Paleale 08-05-2005, 02:43 AM Well I picked up my new GMC Duramax about 3 weeks ago. Got a killer deal on it so I decided to add some extras ,bed coating, tonnuea cover, billet grill. Well I inquired from the dealer about Linex. They said that they used a company called TNT that sprayed the same stuff that Linex used. I Looked at a sample and said well ok but I prefer Linex. They have never had a problem from this company before and it is a lifetime warranty. So I said ok do it. ( mistake # 1). I opted for the spray over rail bed liner because of the tonnuea cover. The over the rail spray can go on a couple of different ways I wanted the tonnuea style which just breaks at the rollover body line. Well I drop the truck off on a Sunday night and go back to pick it up on Monday... I can't belive it, the spray liner just comes over the top and barely covers the stake pocket holes...Now I am upset and the Dealer is upset too. Come to find out TNT had a new guy spray my truck... Well now they (TNT) Says they can fix it. So I give them the benefit of doubt and let them have it another day(mistake #2). Well it comes back and it is real thick and the bed has a few chips in it and the line is not straight on one rail. Well I am pretty pissed now and tell the dealer that I am not paying for this piece of crap job, they agree. They kept the truck a second day so they could get the tonnuea cover on it. I finaly get the truck back and it looks ok with the tonnuea cover on it. I get the truck to buddys house and we are looking at the cover and all the EFF ups that the spray in liner has. I walk by the front of my truck and see some black stuff. I try to wipe it off and it feels like sand paper. I about hit the roof... My whole truck is covered in overspray from the spray in bed liner. I think they parked my truck in front of a open bay while the were spraying another truck bed. I go to the dealer in the morning to see what they can do. They will probably have to clay the whole truck. I am so pissed at TNT Spray On Bed Liners PH# 951-766-1799. DO NOT USE THESE EFFERS In after thought the dealer is going to start using Linex and I am not going to bag on the GMC dealer since they have been great through out the whole escapade. I SAY AGAIN TNT COATINGS SUCK
This is in HEMET CA
LBZ DMAX 08-05-2005, 03:20 AM Got mine sprayed at LineX in Moreno Valley and couldn't be happier. Good quality job. Sorry about your experience, hopefully they make it all better.
smshiver 08-05-2005, 03:32 AM Please let us know how it turns out.
TruckDaddy 08-05-2005, 09:39 AM I'm a LINE-X dealer.
I interact with auto dealers practically everyday. Some of them (not all of them) will sell you the absolute cheapest bedliner product they can find in order to maximize their profit. There are TONS of mom & pop shops selling bedliners whose chemicals come from countries you can't pronounce.
BUYER BEWARE, go with a reputable company. If you don't know of a reputable company, get on the internet and do a little homework.
aquaelvis 08-05-2005, 10:06 AM I got my 2005 CC done through the Chevy dealer by Line-X. It looks great, always liked the look of Line-X but I also have over spray all over my truck. (yes, with Line-X)
Now the Chevy dealer is paying a detail company to buff out the whole truck for me. It is a pain in the Censored but what can you do? At least it will have a nice buff out and fresh wax ):h
The thing that pisses me off is that a week before mine was done, while I was at the dealership signing the paperwork on my truck I over-heard a lady complaining that Line-X has over sprayed her new truck. I did not think much of it at the time but rememebred it when I saw what they did to mine. I asked the dealer and they said they had others, and they told Line-X about the problem. They could not understand why Line-X let it happen AGAIN.
Mistakes happen, but not more than once. All I can come up with is the Line-X dealer in Buckley, WA is a dumb Censored and does not take care of customer's vehicles.
In my opinion the Chevy dealership should be using another Line-X dealer. But, what does the dealer care, I am the one that has to bring my truck back in for a day, Line-X is the one who has to pay for it... the Chevy dealer is not bothered by this at all.
TruckDaddy 08-05-2005, 10:30 AM Yep, the LINE-X dealer definately has a problem somewhere. But, overspray comes off VERY easily with methanol (and it won't hurt the cleacoat). You don't need to buff out anything. The truck should have gone back to the LINE-X dealer. If the dealer has a problem with overspray or getting overspray off, he should call his regional LINE-X rep. This problem is really an easy one to solve.
Denali02 08-05-2005, 12:05 PM My delaer recommended these guys (http://www.sprayontruckbedliner.com). Because I wanted it sprayed over the rails I wanted to talk to the actual installer. He had it sprayed on his personal truck which he kept nice. I also watched during installation. Took him more time to get the tape lines straight and taping everything than the spray itself. Your dealer should take full responsibilty, give you a rental until it is to your satisfaction. Ohh - and sorry to here this happened to you.

Homer999 08-05-2005, 03:01 PM Be careful. I had a clear coat car buffed after a small auto accident. The car looked great for a few months then I realized the clear coat was mostly gone. I lost the whole paint job in about 12 months. Someone below suggest a mild solvent to remove the overspray. I would try that first before buffing.
GMC-2002-Dmax 08-05-2005, 03:18 PM I have had LINE-X for over 3 years in my truck........I too did the research and felt that LINE-X is the best......
If you are truly unhappy, have the dealer swap beds with a truck on the lot of the same color..........and the HOOD too.......as long as the roof is OK after claying then you should be fine, if not have it sanded and repainted by the shop of your choice..........take it and have the LINE-X installed........the right way
I watched the LINE-X Dealer I used spray 2 trucks before he sprayed mine as I had a 3:00 PM appointment and showed up at 10:00 AM to scope the guy and shop out......
I even inquired at LINE-X CORP. to see how long he had the franchise........and if any complaints were lodged with the BBB locally in New York.
The product is important, the person applying it is even more important
Good Luck,

Badhara 08-08-2005, 11:47 PM I had Rhino Linings spray my bed and, to my dismay, when I went to pick it up found that they had glued an ugly, cheap looking plastic plate onto the side of the bed with the Rhino logo on it. I told them to take it off and, when they did, some of the yellow looking glue remained. I still haven't covered it up but will try to spot it with some aerosol rubber that I found. If you are getting either Rhino or Linx be sure to tell them not to put any advertisements on it before hand. They said they always did it and I was the first complaint.....rrrrrrriiiiigggggghhhhhhhtttt!

Is this the company in pleasanton? We had them do my truck and my brothers....in at 10 am and picked up at 1pm......looks good if kept up with some scrubbin and tire shine...
michael nelson 08-09-2005, 01:51 AM I did the rhino lining they did a great job-
TruckDaddy 08-09-2005, 10:38 AM Hey, by the way, I did look at sprayontruckbedliner.com They have some good info there (see the Tech Sheet) but they don't tell you what THEIR product is. You would think after explaining polyurethane/polyurea, aromatic vs. aliphatic, etc. that they would want to tell you what they are spraying. Oh well....
I found a few things that are not exactly correct, but they explain things a lot better than most other bedliner websites.
63teamster 08-24-2005, 12:45 AM I'll be damned, I just had mine sprayed by same outfit and they did a great job, I also live in Hemet,I assume you used same guy on east end of town? Note: He only has one spray booth and is family owned, have you contacted him directly? E-mail me if you like. I was really happy w/ his work.
1bad05max 08-24-2005, 08:28 AM I used Rhino Liner. Excellent job. They did bed liner, remote start and alarm, front tinted windows, plus delevered to home.
Paleale 08-24-2005, 11:17 PM 63T, It was TNT that did it, I went thru TRI Buick,Pontiac,GMC. I do not know where they are located nor Care:mad: , The truck will go into the dealer next week for Claying and a paint protectent with with a 6 year paint guarantee, no charge. Because of this bad spray job TRI now is using Line-X and not TNT. If you are ever on Yale St stop by and see the krappy job that they did.
63teamster 08-25-2005, 08:53 AM 10/4, was just trying to help out, sorry he screwed you. I guess i got lucky...Good news is TRI seems to be decent,I had a lemon in 2000 and they bent over backwards trying to resolve the problem, hopefully they'll do the same for you w/out a fight
