: how loud of a whistle in PS's Idryfly5 08-04-2005, 09:52 PM i drive a dmax but i was behind a 350PS today and i could here the turbo whistle in my truck with the windows up. all i could tell that he had was exhaust maybe tuner. are all powerstrokes this loud or is his truck f'ed up? I ran into him one night while out to dinner with the family and waited for him to come out of the restaurant just here it run, especially with dual 5" pipes coming out the rear end. He started it and it sounded good, but while at idle he turned up the tuner and it sounded like a jet turbine screaming, turned alot of heads in the parking lot too. Real nice truck. If it had Ohio tags reading OTHRHOG, that was him and yes it's loud. Sounds real good. Mark Maxium4x4 08-05-2005, 08:32 AM It is the 2003 that whistles. Ford changed the variable vanes in 04. My 03 will make your ears lay back. The 6.0 has a cold engine strategy that is quiet and does sound like your turning on a programmer. At 8 lbs of boost the turbo will start sounding off. Maxium4x4 08-16-2005, 09:18 AM Check your 1/4 miles times and 60FT.....SCT will walk all over the EDGE and keep the tranny in good shape. I know guys running the EDGE, not to put it down but why de-fuel when the purpose was to increase performance. I run 35's on my truck and 14's are a thing of the past. | ||
