My '02 has electronic transfer case which has pushbuttons on left side of dash. When in 4WD I noticed that "4WD" indicator light on the instrument cluster does not lit up. Only the pushbuttons will lit up. Looking at '01-02 brochure I see a photo of the instrument cluster which show yellow "4WD" right above the Driver Message Center. I know it's not a big deal but my truck is almost out of warranty so if this is something that is supposely to work then I would want to have the dealer fix them.

I have the same prob,but waiting for next oil change to tell the stealer......Iam glad you noticed it....It must be a common prob,4x4 works just fine....exept for the 4x4 symbol in the dash-

but you can see the 4x4 figure unlit in the dash, so why does it not light up???

Because you have a light on the pushbutton controls that tell you that you are in 4wd. I guess in some other vehicle or configuration (shifter on the floor maybe?) there's a light there that turns on, since they use the same dash for different applications.
