i need some help. 96 tahoe with vortec 350. recently when driving truck it sporadically shuts off. the engine and all electrical accs die and then i turn the key off and restart it without any hesitation. all the dash lights light up and some flash. the CEL stayed on once but went out on the next start. the truck runs 100% between occurences and has zero aftermarket junk on it. Not much of an electrical guy but im leaning toward the power feed for the fuse box but was wondering if any of you had any ideas. thanks

Also Check ur positive cable to the battery! my s-10 did that all the time and it was just a slight loose conection, seemed tight but i tightened it up and it fixed it all.

Bingo. There are 2 cables that come off the pos terminal. If they are loose, everything will shut down intermitantly. Sometimes people crank the pos bolt too hard and pull the terminal ot of the battery, so look for acid leaking or corrosion from the terminal. If you try to tighten it up and it's already tight, but the cables still move, then you need to replace the spacer between the two cables. You can find those at the auto parts store. Might as well get a new bolt too, while you are at it.

Our 97 Burban has a positive cable that is loose because the metal that is supposed to grip the battery is ground down and worn out. I think that might be common.
