could anyone tell me what model transfercases fit behind these ZF6's i can get a ZF6 but its out of a two wheel drive but id like to convert it to a four wheel drive is that just a simple swap or is the trans housing completely different and also would the allison transfercase fit behind the ZF6?

i tried searching but never found a straight answer

all duramax transfer cases are the same zf6 or alli. as far as being able to bolt the transmission the the rear extension housing i would emaigne you could considering i would assume all they are all the same but not real sure bout that one

I don't think its really worth it as you would have to change some high-dollar items such as rear case, main shaft, bearings, etc. Check out the attached parts list pdf. My plan is to add a divorced Atlas to my 2WD ZF-6, and maybe a Dodge solid axle?
